The U.S. 65-inch Hisense U6 Pro, model 65U6SF Pro, pairs strong brightness and contrast with an unusually capable gaming feature set for its tier. But its 144Hz refresh rate does not guarantee clear motion: RTINGS found fast action noticeably blurry, a major trade-off for sports and competitive gaming. It is a better fit for viewers who value bright-room visibility and HDR impact over consistently sharp motion.
Which 65-inch U6 Pro is this review about?
This is the U.S. Hisense 65U6SF Pro, a 65-inch Mini-LED 4K Fire TV. Hisense identifies that model on its U.S. product page. RTINGS says it purchased and tested the 65-inch U6SF Pro. Do not assume results apply to the non-Pro U6SF or to U6 models sold in other regions; the model numbers differ.

Is it bright enough for a bright room?
Yes, based on the available testing, the U6SF Pro is a strong option when room brightness is a concern. RTINGS found it bright enough to overcome glare in SDR and reported good HDR peak brightness. Its local dimming also produced excellent contrast in many scenes. Those results support a bright, punchy picture, but not a claim that it is the brightest set in its class.

In that outlet’s HDR comparison, the TCL QM7L measured 2,270 nits, the Samsung S85H 770 nits, and the Hisense U7 2,866 nits. The quick response helps you stay in control during competitive gaming while making rapid camera shots in shows and movies easier to follow
- BUILT-IN SUBWOOFER: Immersive deep bass from the built-in subwoofer pulls you into the heart of the moment, from the rumble of an explosion to the thump of your favorite song. Feel like you’re a part of the action
- ANTI-REFLECTION & GLARE-FREE: Bright rooms are no match for this screen. The anti-reflection and glare-free display keeps your view clean and distraction-free, so you stay focused on what matters — the show
- UNIBODY SLIM DESIGN: Edge-to-edge display and a seamless design that disappears into your room — so all you see is the picture
Tom’s Guide also recorded a Delta-E color error of 1.58 and 98.85% Rec. 709 coverage, and viewed skin tones and color accuracy favorably. RTINGS, however, found noticeable uniformity issues and image degradation when viewed from the sides. Picture consistency may therefore vary across the screen and by seating position.
How good is it for gaming?
Its connectivity and gaming specifications are compelling for the tier. RTINGS reports refresh rates up to 144Hz at 4K and 240Hz at 1080p, plus variable refresh rate (VRR), HDMI 2.1 bandwidth on two inputs, and very low input lag. Tom’s Guide lists FreeSync Premium Pro, VRR, and Auto Low Latency Mode (ALLM), and measured 9.3 ms of input latency in its console testing.

Input lag is the delay between a control input and the corresponding action appearing on screen; pixel response time describes how quickly pixels change from one color to another. Low input lag can make controls feel responsive, but it cannot prevent slow pixel transitions from smearing moving objects.
The important catch: motion clarity
RTINGS found the response time very slow and described fast action in sports and games as blurry. That is a substantial limitation if you play fast-paced titles or watch rapid movement. Tom’s Guide reported a satisfying gaming experience, so the hands-on impressions are more positive; nevertheless, the measured feature set and low input lag should not be mistaken for proof of consistently crisp motion. A 144Hz panel refreshes frequently, but the pixels still need to keep up.

Plan around two high-bandwidth HDMI inputs
Only two of the TV’s four inputs provide HDMI 2.1 bandwidth, according to RTINGS. If you have several devices that need high-bandwidth connections, decide which will use those ports before installation. The remaining inputs still provide connections for other devices, but they are not the two HDMI 2.1 ports identified in the review.

| Priority | What the U6SF Pro offers | What to weigh |
|---|---|---|
| Bright-room viewing and HDR | RTINGS found it bright enough to overcome glare in SDR, with good HDR peak brightness and strong local-dimming contrast in many scenes. | Tom’s Guide’s HDR result was lower than two TVs in its comparison, so it is not the brightest among those tested. |
| Gaming features | Up to 144Hz at 4K, 240Hz at 1080p, VRR, low input lag, and two HDMI 2.1 inputs, according to RTINGS. | RTINGS found slow pixel response and significant blur in fast action. |
| Seating and screen consistency | Tom’s Guide reported favorable color measurements. | RTINGS found side-view image degradation and uniformity problems. |
| Multiple high-bandwidth devices | Four HDMI inputs in total. | HDMI 2.1 bandwidth is available on two inputs, not all four, according to RTINGS. |
For context, RTINGS says the U7SG is brighter and handles motion better. Its comparison with the TCL QM6K describes a different balance: the U6SF Pro has stronger brightness and contrast, while the TCL handles motion more smoothly. Those comparisons are useful starting points, but buyers should check the exact model and their own priorities rather than assuming every regional version behaves the same way.

What did it cost, and is that price current?
Tom’s Guide reported a U.S. launch in March 2026, a 65-inch list price of $1,099, and a $597 sale price in its September 3, 2026 review context. Those are dated price snapshots, not a current offer; check present pricing and stock before buying. The same review listed $849 for 55 inches, $1,399 for 75 inches, $1,999 for 85 inches, and $3,499 for 100 inches, also in that review’s pricing context.
Who should buy the Hisense 65U6SF Pro?
- Consider it if you want a bright Mini-LED picture, strong contrast, and modern gaming features, and you are not especially sensitive to motion blur.
- Think twice if crisp movement in sports or fast games is a top priority, or if viewers will often watch from wide side angles.
- Check before setup if multiple consoles or other devices need HDMI 2.1 bandwidth; only two inputs offer it according to RTINGS.
RTINGS published its review on August 20, 2026, and updated it October 2, 2026; Tom’s Guide published its review September 3, 2026. Their findings support a useful distinction: the Hisense offers strong brightness and a rich set of gaming features, while its motion clarity remains the central compromise.
