The operator’s separate state restrictions page lists Michigan for both modes as well. Those are High 5’s own eligibility rules, so a Michigan player cannot use the service under its current terms, whatever the state’s broader position on sweepstakes-style games.
What High 5’s terms say about Michigan
The operator’s current Terms of Use are dated June 26, 2026 and labeled version 45.0. They name Michigan as a restricted territory for each platform. The table below sets out how the two modes differ and where Michigan falls in each.

Why the Classic mode is not a Michigan option
Readers often assume that a mode without redeemable prizes sits outside the state’s rules. High 5’s terms do not support that reading for Michigan. The Classic Platform is described as Gold Coin play only, yet Michigan is still in its restricted list. Choosing Classic therefore does not change the answer.

The terms also prohibit using a VPN or proxy to disguise a user’s location. Using one to reach either platform from Michigan would breach the terms, so this article does not treat location masking as a workaround.
Why the operator rule and the state rule are different questions
Two separate questions are involved, and they should not be merged:

- What the operator allows. High 5 decides where its service may be used. For Michigan, the answer is no, for both platforms.
- What Michigan law authorizes. The Michigan Gaming Control Board (MGCB) describes which gambling is permitted and publishes a list of legal internet gaming websites.
High 5’s restriction is a statement about its own eligibility. It is not a court ruling or a regulator’s finding about every sweepstakes promotion, and this article does not claim the MGCB has specifically ruled on High 5.
Michigan’s legal framework
The MGCB’s “Legal vs. Illegal Gaming” page states: “Gambling is generally illegal in Michigan unless it is specifically authorized by state law.” It also says that gambling typically involves “consideration (a wager), prize, and chance.” Those three elements give the framework used to judge whether an activity is gambling.

High 5 does not appear among the legal internet gaming websites the MGCB lists. The MGCB list is the place to check which online operators hold Michigan authorization, and the list changes over time, so check it directly rather than relying on any copy of it.

What to do if you are in Michigan
- Read the current High 5 Terms of Use and confirm the Michigan restriction still appears for the platform you want to use.
- Check the High 5 State Restrictions page for the same entry.
- If you want an online gaming service in Michigan, look at the MGCB’s Legal vs. Illegal Gaming resources and its licensed internet gaming list before signing up anywhere.
- Do not use a VPN, proxy, or another location-masking tool to access High 5 from Michigan. The terms prohibit it.
What this answer does and does not cover
- It covers High 5 Casino’s stated eligibility under the terms dated June 26, 2026. Restrictions and operator lists can change, so the live pages control.
- It does not establish how Michigan law treats every sweepstakes-style product. Other operators have different terms and different legal positions.
