Hexborne is a dark-fantasy, single-player roguelite RPG built around drawing one continuous path across a hex battlefield. Steam’s listing currently shows a demo download option for its first chapter, but it also contains conflicting demo-availability wording, so check the live listing before expecting to install it. Steam lists 2027 as the planned full-game release year.
What is Hexborne?
Developer and publisher BlowYAmind describes Hexborne as a turn-based roguelite RPG in which the shape of a route across a hex grid determines how the Warrior attacks. Tiles crossed along the route can provide sword attacks, shields, healing, or coins, making each path a choice about which needs to prioritize.

The assignment’s “Korean” descriptor is not independently confirmed by the official Steam listing. A Reddit post presents its author as the solo developer, but that self-description does not establish nationality. The official store identifies BlowYAmind as developer and publisher; it does not confirm that the project is solo-developed.

How combat and progression work
Draw a path, then manage its consequences
A player draws one unbroken route across the battlefield. Its contact and shape relative to enemies can produce different attacks, including plunging onto a foe, charging in a straight line, circling for a spin, cutting through a group, or flanking. Knockback can push enemies into walls, each other, fire, or spikes, turning positioning into part of the attack.

Enemies telegraph their attacks and show the expected damage in advance. Players can use that information to choose where to stand and which threat to remove first. Sword strikes, collisions, and kills fill a Hexborne gauge; when it is ready, activating it permits a second path during the same turn.
Choose a route through each run
Between battles, a branching map offers villages, events, campfires, bounties, relics, consumables, and services including a blacksmith, alchemy lab, and inn. The game also uses persistent soul stones for permanent upgrades between runs. The combination of route choices and permanent progression gives the combat encounters a longer-run context.

What the free demo includes
Steam describes the demo as the complete first chapter, “The Capital in Ashes,” rather than only a combat tutorial. The listing says it contains eight standard battles, eight elite battles, villages, events, campfires, and a boss fight against Grombash, the Garkhan said to have united the orc clans.

Steam says the planned full game adds Mage and Archer classes and Chapters 2–4, featuring undead, demons, and dragonkin. These are store-listing descriptions of planned scope, not confirmation that those additions are already available.

Is the demo available now?
As accessed on October 13, 2026, the main Steam listing showed a “Download Hexborne Demo” option, while a Steam curator-page variant still displayed “DEMO COMING — October 2026.” Those statements conflict, so the storefront’s actual live download state is the practical check: open the main Steam page and look for its demo download option. The listing gives 2027 as the planned full-game release year, not a confirmed release date. No price was shown in the captured listing.
