Why the “Revenge of the Jedi” title matters
The card backs preserve an earlier title for the third Star Wars film. As described by ComicBook.com, Lucasfilm changed “Revenge of the Jedi” to “Return of the Jedi,” leading Kenner to replace packaging printed with the earlier wording. The title is therefore a useful clue to the packaging’s place in the film’s release history; the report does not establish how many such unused backs survive.
The Nien Nunb offer adds another point of interest: the promotion is printed on the reported packaging, rather than being a separate figure or accessory included in the lot. A card back remains a distinct collectible from a proof card, a complete carded figure, or a loose figure with no packaging.

A related Heritage sale is context, not a price estimate
Heritage’s archive records a separate Kenner 1983 “Revenge of the Jedi” Bespin Guard (white) proof card, graded AFA 85+ and described as unpunched with a Free! Nien Nunb advertisement. It sold on October 29, 2023 for $1,125. See Heritage Auctions’ archived Lot #89009.
That sale is a historical example of a related title-era collectible, not a result for the six card backs. A proof card is a different object from an unused card back, and one archived sale does not establish a market value for the reported group.
