Nintendo Switch Online members in North America can try the full Nintendo Switch version of Hello Kitty Island Adventure at no extra cost from October 9, 2026, at 10 a.m. PT through October 15, 2026, at 11:59 p.m. PT. Nintendo also announced a 45% discount on the digital game through October 18 at 11:59 p.m. PT; it did not state the sale price. Nintendo Canada announced the offer on October 8, 2026.
When the Game Trial starts and ends
The trial window is October 9 at 10 a.m. PT to October 15 at 11:59 p.m. PT. These are Pacific Time deadlines, so check the time difference for your location rather than assuming the offer ends at local midnight.

Who can play and how to download it
An active Nintendo Switch Online membership is required. Nintendo Support says users in the United States, Canada, and Mexico can download available Game Trials through Nintendo eShop’s Nintendo Switch Online section with an account that has an active membership. Nintendo Switch Online membership itself is not included as part of this free trial offer.

- Open the Nintendo Switch Online section and find Hello Kitty Island Adventure among the available Game Trials.
- Download the trial and launch it during the offer window.
Nintendo Support says an internet connection is needed to download the trial and for initial access after restarting the console. Once the trial has started, internet access is needed for online play and other online features. See Nintendo’s Game Trials FAQ for access details.
What happens when the trial ends
A Game Trial is a downloadable full version of a game that Nintendo Switch Online members can play for a limited period. When the trial window ends—or if the membership expires—the trial stops being playable.

Your saved progress is not deleted when the trial ends. Nintendo says players who purchase the game during or after the offer can continue from their saved data. That means you can use the trial to decide whether to buy without starting over if you later choose to keep playing.

Trial, digital purchase, and physical edition
The Game Trial is temporary access, while the discounted digital version is a purchase that lets you keep playing after the trial period. Nintendo’s announcement does not state the digital sale price, so check Nintendo eShop for the current price and terms before buying.
A physical Nintendo Switch edition is a separate purchase option; it is not the digital offer Nintendo announced. A 2025 report noted an Amazon listing, but that does not establish current stock, price, or edition. Check the retailer’s current listing if you prefer a physical copy.
