The same patch fixes a memory corruption issue in the save system and several collision problems across maps that could leave players stuck.
What the 2 million figure measures
The milestone is a player count. The official announcement says the game has welcomed “over 2 million players.” It does not say how those players are counted, whether it includes repeat accounts or players who only tried the game, or what date the figure was measured on. It should not be read as copies sold or units shipped, and the announcement makes no claim of that kind.

What Update 1.8 adds
The headline addition is 10 new Hollow Walkers. The patch notes describe these additions collectively and do not name each enemy or explain its behavior, so a full per-enemy breakdown is not available from the announcement itself.

The studio framed the change around player feedback. The official Steam announcement says: “We heard your feedback on enemy variety, and these new additions bring more diversity to the foes you’ll encounter.” The statement is credited to the Hell Is Us update announcement, not to a named developer.

The headline’s word “massively” is the outlet’s framing. The official notice quantifies the change as 10 Hollow Walkers and nothing more.

Alongside the new enemies, the official patch notes list two categories of fixes:

- Map collision issues: several collision problems across maps are fixed. The announcement says these could leave players stuck.
Which platforms have the update
Platform coverage is not fully consistent. Push Square identifies PS5 and describes the update as available across platforms. GamingBolt names Xbox Series X/S, PS5, and PC, and reports a later Nintendo Switch 2 launch. Neither source gives a platform-by-platform rollout date that is confirmed by an official notice.

The build number 1.8.125.51687 is a Steam identifier. It does not tell you anything about matching build numbers on consoles, and console players should not compare against it.

Checking your version before you play
- On PC: open Steam, check your Library for a pending Hell Is Us update, and let it finish before launching. The build identifier in the official announcement is 1.8.125.51687.
- On consoles: check the game’s listing in your platform’s store for an update that corresponds to Update 1.8, and confirm the update installed before playing.
- Switch 2 owners: until an official platform notice gives a date, treat the Switch 2 rollout as unconfirmed.
