Haunted by Daylight 2026 is published as a Halloween event running from October 13 through November 3, 2026. Behaviour’s 7.3.0 and 7.3.1 update documentation gives a related implementation and event-tome start of October 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. ET. Those references do not describe exactly the same milestone, so use the in-game event panel and the latest Behaviour announcement for the time the event is actually available in your region.
The event is available through the major Dead by Daylight storefronts: PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam and the Epic Games Store. Its dedicated currency is Dark Trinkets, earned through Haunted by Daylight tome challenges and spent on event cosmetics and charms. In 2026, hooks and generators no longer receive separate seasonal score events; event-feature interactions are the way to pursue the stronger event-specific scoring.

What is Haunted by Daylight 2026?
Haunted by Daylight is Dead by Daylight’s Halloween event, combining a limited-time event tome, event challenges, special scoring opportunities and a collection of seasonal cosmetics and charms. The 2026 structure is centered on completing the event tome rather than simply playing ordinary matches and expecting every normal objective to pay an extra Halloween bonus.

The published schedule and the implementation time should be treated as two related but different pieces of information:
#1 Best Overall
- Enhanced visuals: Completely rebuilt from the ground up using Naughty Dog’s latest PS5 engine technology to improve every visual detail, The Last of Us experience has been faithfully enhanced with more realistic lighting and atmosphere, more intricate environments and creative reimaginings of familiar spaces.
- Fast loading: Initial loading times are near instant, and seamless after the first instance thanks to the PS5 console’s SSD – so you can pick up where you left off in the story and load specific encounters and chapters more quickly.
- Haptic feedback: DualSense wireless controller haptic feedback support for every weapon elevates combat encounters, and environments are brought to life through DualSense wireless controller haptic sensations of subtle falling rain, the crunch of stepping on snow and more.
- Adaptive triggers: All The Last of Us iconic weapons, including Joel’s revolver and Ellie’s bow, now deliver dynamic DualSense wireless controller trigger resistance and kickback on firing for deeper combat immersion.
- 3D Audio: Designed to make use of the PS5 console’s Tempest 3D AudioTech, Naughty Dog’s newly upgraded audio engine delivers richer soundscapes, bigger explosive moments and more visceral gameplay through compatible stereo headphones (analogue or USB) or TV speakers.
- Published 2026 event window: October 13–November 3, 2026, according to the Dead by Daylight Wiki’s event listing.
- Implementation and event-tome start cited in Behaviour’s 7.3.0 and 7.3.1 documentation: October 18, 2026, at 2:00 p.m. Eastern Time.
This difference can matter if you log in on October 13 and do not yet see the tome or event mechanics. The safest authority is the event panel shown in your own game, followed by the most recent Behaviour announcement. Storefront propagation and regional timing can also make the first visible moment differ between players.
How long does Haunted by Daylight last?
Using the published schedule, Haunted by Daylight 2026 lasts from October 13 through November 3, 2026. That is the date range to use for planning your challenges and spending time in the event collection.
However, the patch notes’ October 18, 2026, 2:00 p.m. ET reference indicates when the event systems and event tome were scheduled to be implemented in the update documentation. It should not be silently substituted for the October 13–November 3 window, because the two dates describe different scheduling references.

- Launch Dead by Daylight on your platform.
- Open the current event panel or event-tome entry shown in the game’s menus.
- Read the countdown or end-date text displayed there; this is the practical deadline for your account and region.
- Check the latest Behaviour announcement if the in-game date conflicts with a storefront or patch-note date.
Do not assume that a challenge completed after the displayed deadline will be credited. Limited-time tomes and event collections can stop accepting progress when the live event closes.
Which platforms support Haunted by Daylight?
Behaviour’s official Haunted by Daylight guide identifies these storefront families:
Rank #2
- In up to four player co-op, form a group of explorers searching for treasure. In this cursed jungle, danger is everywhere and monstrous creatures alter reality. Stay clear-headed and tame the jungle before it devours you…
- Join a team of explorers in search of treasure. Aboard your galleon, prepare for each mission by selecting weapons and equipment before setting off for adventure in the cursed jungle.
- The Mound is inspired by the stories of H.P. Lovecraft with their oppressive and unpredictable atmospheres. Here, the supernatural forces don't just hunt you down: they distort your perception of every situation to throw you off balance.
- In The Mound, survival depends on communication and helping each other. But as madness sets in, hallucinations intensify. Can you still trust your perception, and do you really have time to assess the situation?
- The Deluxe Edition contains the Abyssal Gear Pack, The Fortune Hunters Characters Pack including two exclusive characters, and the exclusive Temple of Yig mission: a brand-new contract at the heart of a dedicated zone, offering a radically different playstyle.
| Platform or storefront | Listed for Haunted by Daylight | Timing qualification |
|---|---|---|
| PlayStation | Yes | Live listing and regional availability can vary. |
| Xbox | Yes | Live listing and regional availability can vary. |
| Nintendo Switch | Yes | Listed in Behaviour’s event guide; check the local game listing for timing. |
| Steam | Yes | PC storefront timing can differ from console rollout. |
| Epic Games Store | Yes | PC storefront timing can differ from console rollout. |
Behaviour’s support material for a Dead by Daylight promotional quest specifically names PC Steam, Epic Games Store, PlayStation and Xbox. That support list is narrower than the event guide and does not establish that Nintendo Switch is excluded from Haunted by Daylight; it addresses a particular promotion rather than replacing the event’s platform list.
Does platform determine whether you can participate?
The event is built into the game rather than being a separate title. If the event panel and tome appear in your installed version, you participate from that platform. Cross-play and the exact time a storefront displays an update can change, so verify the live listing for your own region instead of relying on another platform’s launch time.
How Dark Trinkets work
Dark Trinkets are the exclusive Halloween-event currency for Haunted by Daylight. Behaviour describes a simple loop: complete challenges and levels in the Haunted by Daylight event tome, receive Dark Trinkets, then spend them in the event collection.
Earn Dark Trinkets through the event tome
- Open the Haunted by Daylight event tome from the event panel.
- Review the available challenge and level objectives before entering a match.
- Select an objective that fits the role you intend to play. A challenge that requires a particular type of action may be more efficient when chosen deliberately rather than discovered by accident.
- Play matches until the selected objective registers as complete.
- Return to the tome and claim or advance the completed level if the interface presents a separate claim step.
- Repeat across the tome’s available challenges to build your Dark Trinket balance.
The published event information establishes the source of the currency, but it does not state a universal number of Dark Trinkets for each challenge or level. Treat any amount shown in your own tome as the controlling value for that objective.
Spend Dark Trinkets in the event collection
The event collection uses Dark Trinkets for cosmetics and charms. These are digital, in-game rewards rather than a separate physical product or cash-out currency. Open each item’s details before spending so you can see its cost and whether it is available to your character or collection.
Rank #3
- Wield the Yamato: Take the stylish action to a new level as Vergil, Dante's long-time rival and twin brother. DmC5 players on PlayStation 4, Xbox One and PC will also be able to access all Vergil content in the playable character: Vergil DLC at a later date
- New Gameplay Modes: Test your skills against the unique challenges of the new legendary dark Knight mode and Turbo mode. Legendary dark Knight mode: fans seeking an added challenge can Pit their skills and style against a crazy amount of enemies in the perilous legendary dark Knight mode
- Ascend the Bloody Palace: Tackle the increasingly difficult floors of the bloody palace challenge mode, originally introduced as free post-launch content for Devil May Cry 5. Only the most skilled demon hunters will make it to the top floor to face the ultimate challenge
- High-Octane Stylized Action: Play as four different characters: Nero, Dante, V, and the newly-added Vergil. Cut a path through the ruins of redgrave city with each character using radically different play styles as they take on the teaming hordes of demons
- Groundbreaking Graphics: Developed with Capcom in-house proprietary RE engine, DMC5SE brings the visual quality to new heights, with graphics that utilize photorealistic character designs, stunning lighting and environmental effects
A sensible order for spending is:
- Choose a cosmetic you will actually use if your priority is a character-specific appearance.
- Choose charms first if you prefer account-wide or loadout-visible collectibles.
- Leave enough currency for a higher-cost item you want before buying inexpensive items merely because they are immediately available.
- Use the collection’s own availability and cost labels; the 2026 materials do not publish a complete universal price list.
Do not expect Dark Trinkets to replace ordinary Bloodpoints, Auric Cells or other standard currencies. They are described specifically as the Halloween-event currency for the event collection.
What changed in the 2026 scoring rules?
The most important 2026 rule change concerns seasonal score events for hooks and generators. In an October 13, 2026 community-manager announcement, Ryan wrote: We’re removing unique Score Events for seasonal event hooks and gens.
In practical terms, core actions now award their standard score events rather than an additional unique seasonal score event simply because the hook or generator is part of the Halloween setup. At the same time, many Haunted by Daylight score events have increased values. The distinction is important:
| Action or interaction | 2026 scoring treatment | What to do |
|---|---|---|
| Ordinary hook action | Standard score event; no unique seasonal hook score event | Do not choose a hook solely because you expect a separate Halloween hook bonus. |
| Ordinary generator completion | Standard score event; no unique seasonal generator score event | Complete generators for normal objectives, not for an assumed extra seasonal event. |
| Haunted by Daylight event-feature interaction | Many event score events have increased values | Interact with the event features when doing so is safe and compatible with your challenge. |
How to maximize event-specific scoring
- Read the event panel and tome objectives before the match starts.
- Identify which event features are available in the current trial and which actions trigger the event scoring.
- Prioritize those event interactions when they do not jeopardize the match objective or a challenge requirement.
- Continue performing normal survivor or killer objectives; the 2026 change removes a special seasonal score event, not the underlying hook or generator score.
- Check the post-match score breakdown if you want to confirm which event-feature score events were credited.
The announcement does not establish that every event interaction has the same value or that every match contains every feature. Avoid treating one player’s score breakdown as a universal guarantee.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What rewards can you get?
The confirmed Haunted by Daylight reward categories are event cosmetics and charms. Dark Trinkets earned from the tome are exchanged for those items in the event collection. The available rewards can depend on the event build and the items displayed in your client, so use the collection itself as the authoritative inventory.
Rank #4
The published 2026 information does not establish a separate cash prize, physical reward, guaranteed premium-currency payout or complete item-by-item catalogue. It also does not establish that a particular cosmetic is available on every character or platform. Read the item description and eligibility text before committing Dark Trinkets.
Which participation plan fits your schedule?
| Player situation | Recommended approach | What is established | What remains variable |
|---|---|---|---|
| You can play throughout the window | Start the tome early and work through several challenge levels over multiple sessions. | Challenges and levels are the source of Dark Trinkets. | The exact number of levels, challenge requirements and currency per level are not stated in the published overview. |
| You have only a few sessions | Choose objectives that match your normal survivor or killer routine, then spend on the item you value most. | Dark Trinkets are spent on cosmetics and charms. | Exact item costs and the time needed for each objective depend on the in-game tome. |
| You care about score | Combine normal match objectives with event-feature interactions. | Many event score events have increased values; hooks and generators use standard score events. | The value and availability of individual features are not uniform in the published announcement. |
| You are joining from a different region or storefront | Check the local listing and the in-game event panel before planning a session. | The guide names PlayStation, Xbox, Nintendo Switch, Steam and Epic Games Store. | Regional rollout, cross-play behavior and storefront timing can change. |
Common timing and access problems
The event does not appear on October 13
Use the October 13–November 3 dates as the published schedule, but remember that Behaviour’s patch documentation places implementation and the event-tome start on October 18 at 2:00 p.m. ET. Restart the game after the relevant update, confirm that your platform has installed it, and look for the event panel. If the panel still is not present, compare your local storefront status with the latest Behaviour announcement rather than repeatedly reinstalling the game.
The event panel appears but the tome is locked
Confirm that you are looking at the Haunted by Daylight tome rather than a standard tome. The 2026 materials tie Dark Trinkets to event-tome challenges and levels; they do not state an alternative unlock method. If the event window is active and the tome remains unavailable, capture the exact in-game message and use the game’s support channel.
A hook or generator gave no seasonal bonus
That behavior is consistent with the 2026 rule change. Unique seasonal score events for event hooks and generators were removed. Review the score breakdown for event-feature interactions instead of expecting a separate seasonal line for every core action.

A promotion is advertised elsewhere
Current Twitch Drops or creator-affiliate terms are not established by the 2026 event information summarized here. Do not assume that watching a stream, linking an account or completing a promotional quest grants Dark Trinkets or event cosmetics unless a current Behaviour announcement and the in-game or platform instructions explicitly say so.
What to check before November 3
- Confirm the live end time in the in-game event panel.
- Open the event tome and select a challenge before playing.
- Claim completed tome progress where the interface requires it.
- Review your Dark Trinket balance and the event collection.
- Spend on the cosmetics or charms you want while the collection is available.
- Use event-feature interactions for event-specific scoring, while treating hooks and generators as standard score events.
For the authoritative 2026 timing, rely on the live Behaviour announcement and your in-game event panel. The published schedule is October 13–November 3, with October 18 at 2:00 p.m. ET identified in the patch documentation as the implementation and event-tome start reference.
