There’s no evidence yet that the Galaxy S27 Pro has overtaken the Galaxy S27 Ultra. As of October 13, 2026, the sources available do not establish that either phone has been officially announced, let alone provide sales, preorder, search-interest, or survey data comparing their popularity.
What “overtaken” would need to mean
The claim depends on a measurable yardstick. Higher sales, more searches, stronger preorder demand, or better reviews could each make one model seem to be ahead, but they are different measures. No comparative figures for any of them appear in the sources cited here. Rumors about the Pro’s positioning or specifications cannot establish that it is more popular than the Ultra.

Even a future claim that one model is “ahead” would need context: which country or market, what time period, and which measure? A rise in online searches, for example, would not by itself show that more people bought or preferred a phone. No source cited here supplies a defined metric or a before-and-after comparison for the two S27 models.

Neither S27 model is confirmed in the cited official sources
Samsung’s Global Newsroom press-release listing, checked on October 13, 2026, showed announcements from that month but no Galaxy S27 Pro or Galaxy S27 Ultra launch announcement. A missing listing does not prove that the phones do not exist; it means the listing does not confirm their launch. Samsung Global Newsroom

The Pro name has appeared in secondary reporting: SamMobile said in June 2026 that GSMA database records it reviewed associated model number SM-S957B/DS with the Galaxy S27 Pro. That is a report about database records, not a Samsung launch announcement. It offers evidence for the reported model name, but does not establish the phone’s final design, specifications, release date, or popularity. SamMobile’s report on the model number
What the S27 rumors do—and do not—tell us
Expected timing and rumored prices
Android Central reported on October 9, 2026 that a tipster had shared rumored US starting prices of $1,299 for the Pro and $1,399 for the Ultra. The article also described a four-model lineup expected in early 2027. These are leak-based figures and expectations, not Samsung-confirmed prices, a confirmed launch schedule, or evidence that the Pro is winning demand. The $100 difference is only a reported starting-price gap; it does not tell us what either phone will cost at other storage tiers, in other countries, or at retail. Android Central’s report on rumored S27 pricing
Because there is no confirmed launch announcement, neither model is established as currently available to buy. Buyers should not treat the rumored prices or early-2027 timing as a purchase offer or firm release plan.

Regional chipset claim
An October 5, 2026 Android Authority article described a claim that the S27 Pro could use an Exynos 2700 chip in some regions. That remains a report about possible hardware, not a final specification. A rumored chip choice cannot show that buyers prefer the Pro. If Samsung later confirms different chipsets by region, a fair comparison should identify the market being discussed rather than assume every S27 Pro would have identical hardware. Android Authority’s report on the chipset rumor
Current-generation context is not S27 evidence
Samsung’s first-quarter 2026 interim report covers the Galaxy S26 family, including the S26 Ultra’s 6.9-inch display. It offers context about the preceding generation, but does not verify S27 specifications or compare interest in the rumored S27 models. The S26 Ultra display figure should not be carried over as an S27 Ultra specification. Samsung Electronics’ 1Q 2026 Interim Report
What would make a Pro-versus-Ultra comparison useful
Once Samsung confirms both phones, a meaningful comparison should separate specifications from popularity. For specifications, check price, dimensions and weight, display, camera hardware and zoom, regional chipset, battery and charging, S Pen support, and availability. These are the details needed to judge practical trade-offs; none is established for the S27 pair by the cited official sources.

For popularity, look for a specific measure—such as reported sales or preorder totals—with a clear time period and market. A review preference would also need to identify whose reviews and how many were considered. Until those details exist, it is not possible to say the Pro has overtaken the Ultra on a factual basis. Treat rumors as provisional, and wait for Samsung’s announcement and comparable evidence before drawing a buying conclusion.
