Separately, Xbox said on September 22, 2026 that Activision will develop “the next Halo title.” That is a different, undated project, not the 2026 game.
What Halo: Campaign Evolved is
Halo Studios announced it with this line: “We’re pleased to announce that our next game, Halo: Campaign Evolved, will be a ground-up remake of Halo: Combat Evolved’s genre-defining campaign coming to Xbox Series X|S, PC, and PlayStation®5 in 2026.”

It is a remake of the campaign only. Halo Studios lists these changes:

The story is unchanged in outline. Master Chief returns to the ringworld after the Pillar of Autumn crash-lands there, with Cortana and the Covenant at the center.

Xbox Wire also describes Xbox on PC, Xbox Cloud Gaming, Xbox Play Anywhere, and day-one availability with Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. Access varies by platform and subscription tier, so check the current store page before relying on any of it. The early-access perk was a launch-window offer and is now historical.

Collector’s Edition contents
The official description lists:
- A SteelBook
- A 12-inch Master Chief statue by Dark Horse
- An LED replica of Cortana’s data chip
- Three 11-by-17-inch concept-art prints
- A physical manual
The Xbox Series X|S and PS5 versions include a physical game disc. The Steam version uses a voucher code instead. Halo Studios described the edition as limited supply with regional availability, so don’t assume it is still in stock anywhere.
The “next Halo title” is a separate project
In an Xbox Wire post dated September 22, 2026, Xbox said: “Activision will also be developing the next Halo title, led by a new, purpose-built team that is separate from ongoing development and plans for Call of Duty.” The same post said a small Halo Studios team will keep supporting the community and the Halo games already on the market.

The post names no title, platform or release date. Nothing in it supports an assumption that another Halo game will arrive in 2026.
