Publication order tells you when the books were released; in-universe chronology tells you when their events happen. The official guide gives release dates and organizes many books into series, but it is not a complete timeline of every novel and anthology story. For a straightforward first read, follow the publication order above. If you specifically want strict chronology, do not treat the guide’s series headings as one continuous timeline.

The latest book listed by Halo Studios
Halo Studios’ guide identifies Halo: Waypoint Chronicles – Volume One by Jeff Easterling and Alexander Wakeford as the latest Halo book listed, with a stated release date of May 26, 2026. It is an anthology rather than a single continuous novel: the guide describes over thirty short stories from across the setting, including twenty-four adventures previously available online and ten new tales exclusive to the volume, plus lore items and vignettes connected to Halo Infinite. The guide lists trade paperback, ebook and unabridged audiobook editions. Because release and format details can change, check the official guide for its current listing.
