Is Halloween: The Game like Dead by Daylight?
In broad terms, yes: both use an asymmetrical horror setup in which a powerful hunter faces a group trying to survive. But the match goals and the role of the Halloween license differ. Halloween: The Game is specifically built around Michael Myers and Haddonfield, and it also includes a single-player Michael Myers story. Dead by Daylight is organized around a solo Killer and four Survivors who cooperate to escape, with a broader changing roster of maps and Bloodweb progression.

Michael’s hunt versus the escape team
In Halloween: The Game multiplayer, Michael stalks residents and special targets, using abilities the developer describes as Killer Sense, Shape Jump, and Shape Dash. Civilians search for residents, warn and guide them to safety, collect loot and weapons, and try to escape through routes that can change between matches. Eliminated civilians can return in supporting roles such as a Sheriff’s Deputy or Dr. Loomis. These are mechanics described by the developer, not a comparative independent gameplay test. See the official multiplayer overview.

Dead by Daylight puts one Killer against four cooperative Survivors. The official game page describes earning Bloodpoints and spending them in the Bloodweb on perks, add-ons, and offerings. Its current page lists more than 15 maps; that roster changes over time, and the page does not date the map count. Official game description.

Can you play Halloween: The Game solo?
Yes. The launch announcement lists a standalone single-player story mode as Michael Myers. The US PlayStation Store listing says online play is optional and lists one player, so you do not need to treat the game as multiplayer-only. The launch announcement also lists 1v4 multiplayer, four multiplayer maps, ten playable civilian characters, civilian perk-card decks, and unlockable Michael skins, weapons, executions, and abilities. It says Digital Deluxe includes two additional playable civilians, Richard and Alexis. Launch details; US PlayStation listing.
Can you still get Michael Myers in Dead by Daylight?
Not as a new unlock through the removed Halloween chapter. Behaviour made the chapter featuring The Shape, Laurie Strode, and Haddonfield unavailable to unlock on January 19, 2026. Players who owned The Shape, Laurie, or their cosmetics before removal retain access to their content, according to Behaviour. Haddonfield left the map rotation. Some perks associated with the former characters moved to the general pool under new names for players who did not own those characters. This change applies to the Halloween-licensed content; it did not remove Dead by Daylight itself. Removal announcement; official FAQ.
