What the HRF510BW offers
Haier lists this as a 500 Series bottom-freezer model. Its capacity is divided into 379 L for the refrigerator and 138 L for the freezer, a roughly 70:30 split that prioritizes fresh food. The listed finish is White; Satina is also shown as an available finish on Haier’s product page. Confirm the finish and exact model number with the seller before ordering.

The headline 517 L figure is not all refrigerator storage: 138 L is freezer capacity. The 379 L fridge section is the larger portion, which can be useful if you buy fresh food frequently or want room for bulky chilled items. If your household keeps substantial frozen-food stocks, compare the 138 L freezer space with your needs rather than relying on the total capacity alone.

Capacity figures do not by themselves show how conveniently a particular kitchen load will fit. Haier lists three adjustable glass shelves, humidity-controlled crisper storage and two freezer drawers. The model also has a manual ice tray; the available documentation does not list a water dispenser or automatic ice maker for the HRF510BW.
Features: useful on paper, with performance still to prove
- Humidity Zone/crisper: Haier describes the drawer as helping preserve produce. That is the manufacturer’s feature claim, not a comparative storage test.
- Multi-Zone Air: Haier says cool air circulates across shelves and corners. Published material does not establish independently measured temperature uniformity.
- Super Cooling and Super Freeze: Both functions are listed. Haier says Super Freeze works quickly to freeze food and help preserve taste, texture and nutrients; no measured freeze time or food-quality result is available in the cited material.
- Frost-free freezer: Listed by Haier, so routine manual defrosting is not presented as part of normal freezer maintenance.
- Reversible door: Haier says the door can be configured to open from the left or right. Check the required hinge arrangement and the space available around the appliance before installation.
These descriptions establish which features the manufacturer lists, not whether their real-world results outperform competing refrigerators. The Haier Quick Reference Guide and product page are the references for the feature list.

Measure the cavity, door swing and delivery route
The closed appliance measures 1725 mm high, 790 mm wide and 707 mm deep. Haier’s April 2025 specification guide gives a cavity height of 1775 mm, width of 890 mm and minimum depth of 757 mm. It also lists an overall width of 1249 mm and depth of 1439 mm with the door open. These are planning figures from the specification guide, not a substitute for the current installation instructions.

- Allow for the door to open and drawers to be accessed; check nearby walls, islands and cabinet fronts against the open-door dimensions.
- Confirm hinge direction and the intended reversible-door setup with the installer or current model instructions.
- Measure the route from delivery access to the kitchen, including doorways, hallways and turns.
- Use the installation instructions supplied with the appliance or current model-specific guidance. Haier explicitly cautions that its specification guide should not be used as installation guidance.
The dimensions and caveat appear in Haier Australia/New Zealand’s Specification Guide, Version A, April 2025. Recheck the current installation documentation rather than treating the listed cavity figures as universal requirements.

Energy use and the rating
Haier publishes an energy rating of 5.5 stars and annual consumption of 285 kWh for the HRF510BW. These figures help identify the model’s stated energy performance, but they are not a promise of a particular household’s electricity use: actual consumption depends on conditions and use. Compare the rating and annual-use figure on the same basis when considering other models, and check the current label and product documentation.
What independent testing says—and does not say
CHOICE’s public listing identifies the HRF510BW as a freezer-on-bottom model tested in 2025 and displays specifications including capacity and energy use. The expert rating, detailed temperature results, noise result, testing standard, reliability and satisfaction information are member-only on the public page. Without accessible detailed results or a hands-on test, a firm performance verdict on temperature stability, noise or long-term reliability would go beyond the evidence available here. Treat those as questions to resolve through accessible test data, the seller’s return terms and warranty documentation rather than assuming the feature list proves performance.
Warranty: distinguish the compressor from the whole appliance
Haier lists two years of parts and labour, followed by an additional ten years covering compressor parts only. The extra compressor-parts period is not a ten-year whole-refrigerator warranty; confirm the current terms and any conditions with Haier before relying on coverage.
