If Gyre audio is out of sync on YouTube, first compare the original video file with the live YouTube playback. If the original is already out of sync, fix and re-export that file. If it plays correctly but the live output does not, check YouTube’s live-stream health and configuration details. If the problem affects only one viewer or device, compare playback elsewhere before changing the source.
Find where the sync problem starts
Gyre describes its prerecorded streams as running from its cloud, using files uploaded to Gyre storage. That means a problem in an already-uploaded, cloud-hosted broadcast should not automatically be blamed on the creator’s computer, USB microphone, or cables. Those devices may still matter when recording or preparing the original file.

| Where the mismatch appears | What to check | Next step |
|---|---|---|
| In the original file and on YouTube | Audio/video alignment and track durations | Edit and export the source file, then upload the corrected version to Gyre if appropriate. |
| The original file is synchronized, but the live YouTube output is not | YouTube Live health/configuration messages and the prepared Gyre file | Review the messages and file checks; keep the exact error text for support. |
| Only one browser, device, or viewer reports the issue | Playback on another browser or device | Compare those results with the original file and live output. |
YouTube’s upload guidance notes that tracks with different durations may not sync correctly and advises editing the tracks before upload. That advice is relevant when the source file itself has a mismatch; it is not a complete diagnosis for every live-stream or viewer-only problem.
Fix a sync problem in the original file
- Play the original recording locally. Compare clear audio events with the corresponding visible action, then compare the same moments in the YouTube playback. This establishes whether the problem is already present in the source.
- Check the audio and video track durations and alignment. YouTube advises that the tracks should have the same duration. If one track is shorter or longer, edit the source so the audio and video align, then export a corrected file.
- Review the export before uploading it again. Play the corrected file locally and check more than one point in the recording; a mismatch may not be equally obvious throughout. Once the source is synchronized, upload the corrected file to Gyre if you need to replace the stream content.
Gyre’s preparation page lists H.264, 1920×1080 or 1280×720 resolution, 3072–6144 kbps video bitrate, 128 kbps audio bitrate, and 30 FPS. It names Adobe Premiere, DaVinci Resolve, and Final Cut Pro as conversion options. These are the values on that Gyre help page, not a universal sync fix or a guarantee that changing export settings will repair an already-misaligned source.

Check the live stream when the source is synchronized
If the original file plays correctly but the YouTube live output does not, inspect YouTube’s live-stream health and configuration details. Google’s YouTube Live Streaming API documentation describes issues involving audio codec, sample rate, bitrate, missing audio, video codec, and insufficient video ingestion. Those messages can point to configuration or delivery problems; the documentation does not say that every listed issue causes audio/video desynchronization.
- Record the exact health or configuration message, rather than reducing it to “audio is out of sync.”
- Note whether the mismatch is present from the beginning or develops during playback, and identify the affected broadcast.
- Check that the file prepared for Gyre has consistent audio and video tracks and follows Gyre’s listed preparation guidance.
YouTube’s warning about insufficient video ingestion describes buffering for viewers; it should not be treated by itself as proof of an audio-sync cause.

Rule out a viewer playback issue
Compare the live playback on another browser or device, and compare it with the original file. If the mismatch appears only in one playback environment, do not immediately re-edit or re-upload the source. YouTube recommends cross-browser testing for certain browser and device display issues, but its guidance does not give a specific viewer-side sync correction for Gyre streams.

If the mismatch remains, contact Gyre support with the affected broadcast, whether the original file is synchronized, where the problem first appears, and any exact YouTube health/configuration messages. This separates a source-file defect from a live-output or viewer playback issue. The official guidance reviewed here does not establish a Gyre-specific audio-delay setting, fixed delay value, or universal correction.
