The GUNNAR Cyberpunk 2077 Dex glasses stand out for their oversized, single-shield look and Dexter DeShawn-inspired styling. They weigh 40 g according to GUNNAR, and come in Amber, Sun, and Amber Max lens options. The right choice depends mainly on whether you want the lighter tint or the stronger filtering figures GUNNAR publishes—not on any proven gaming or medical benefit.
What do the Dex glasses look like?
GUNNAR describes the officially licensed Cyberpunk 2077 Dex as an oversized quadrate shield-lens frame inspired by Dexter DeShawn, finished in brushed nickel. Its single wide lens and visible hardware give it a more conspicuous, character-inspired appearance than conventional gaming glasses. Jason Million of G Style Magazine also noted the frameless lens and distinctive finish; that design is a matter of taste, not a fit or performance advantage.

How big and heavy are they?
GUNNAR lists these dimensions and weight for the Dex:

The figures are a useful starting point for judging scale, but they do not establish how the frame will fit a particular face. Reviewers described the glasses as lightweight. Jupiter Hadley of Pocket Gamer said the sides thin around the ears and did not feel especially weighty there; that is one reviewer’s impression, not a guarantee of comfort.
Amber, Sun, or Amber Max: which tint makes sense?
GUNNAR lists three lens options. Its published blue-light filtering figures are for light at 450 nm and are manufacturer claims; they are not independent test results for this article.

| Option | GUNNAR’s stated filtering at 450 nm | What to consider |
|---|---|---|
| Amber | 65% (GUNNAR figure; page date not stated) | Hadley described a slight orange cast in their review. |
| Sun | 90% (GUNNAR figure; page date not stated) | The cited review material does not describe its color cast. |
| Amber Max | 98% (GUNNAR figure; page date not stated) | Hadley described a deeper orange cast. GUNNAR describes it as intended for extreme photosensitivity and sleep control; this is not medical advice or evidence of a treatment effect. |
Choose based on the tint and filtering level you prefer, and keep in mind that stronger filtering is accompanied by a more noticeable tint in the reviewer’s description of Amber Max. The available evidence does not establish that any Dex tint improves sleep, prevents headaches or migraines, or improves gaming performance.

Despite the smudge-resistance claim, Million reported that the exposed lens picked up smudges during handling and recommended careful handling. Use the included cloth and avoid touching the lens where possible; a coating described as smudge-resistant does not mean the surface cannot show fingerprints.
Do the Dex glasses have proven eye or gaming benefits?
GUNNAR says its lens technology is clinically proven to reduce digital eye strain, enhance visual focus, and sharpen contrast. The product-specific clinical study underlying those claims is not established in the cited material, so treat them as GUNNAR’s claims rather than confirmed outcomes. The filtering percentages are also manufacturer figures, not independent clinical findings.

The Dex makes the most sense if you specifically want the Cyberpunk 2077 design, like an oversized shield lens, and have chosen a tint that suits your preferences. If discreet styling or a particular fit is the priority, the distinctive shape and listed measurements are reasons to compare carefully before buying. The reviews offer subjective impressions, not a universal fit guarantee.
