GTT says its new enterprise platform, Defense Halo, maps network activity, assesses vulnerabilities and policy gaps, and triages customer-specific anomalies for possible remediation. Announced September 29, 2026, the service is described by GTT as available now, with select customers already using it. Those are launch claims, not independently demonstrated results: the announcement and trade coverage provide no efficacy benchmarks or customer case studies.
What GTT Defense Halo is designed to do
GTT describes Defense Halo as an AI-native network-defense platform, patent-pending and deployed as a dedicated instance for each customer. Its stated capabilities fall into three connected tasks:
- Find exposure: identify vulnerabilities and policy gaps across a customer’s estate and generate remediation plans in real time.
- Triage unusual behavior: analyze anomalies specific to that customer’s network, assess whether they are genuine threats, and remediate genuine threats at network speed, according to GTT.
- Map network activity: generate a stateful, real-time model showing host-to-host connections and communications, intended to support threat hunting and vulnerability exposure assessment.
These functions are described in GTT’s September 29, 2026 announcement; Light Reading’s launch coverage repeats the product description but does not report independent testing.
What “network blind spots” means here
The phrase comes from GTT’s launch messaging, not an independently established finding that Defense Halo eliminates blind spots. The release quotes Amy DeCarlo, Principal Analyst, Security and Data Center Services at GlobalData, saying: “Most existing security products analyze traffic after it has been collected and normalized, which builds latency, cost and blind spots into the architecture,” according to the GTT announcement. The release supplies no methodology for that assessment or comparative test of Defense Halo.
#1 Best Overall
GTT’s Fletcher Keister, Chief Product and Technology Officer, said in the same release: “Every security leader I speak with is fighting the same battle against the clock. AI-powered cyber threats complicate and intensify that battle,” followed by, “Time is the enemy because time equals risk.” These statements frame the company’s rationale; they do not establish product performance.
Architecture, hosting and availability
GTT says Defense Halo is powered by its AI factory and embedded in its global Tier 1 backbone. The company says it is hosted in the United States, United Kingdom and European Union, presenting that footprint as support for scale and sovereignty requirements. The launch announcement does not describe technical isolation controls or say whether a customer can select a specific hosting region.

GTT says the platform is available now and that select customers are already using it. It does not identify those customers or publish deployment outcomes, pricing or contract terms.
How it fits GTT’s broader network-security strategy
In an April 21, 2026 strategy announcement, GTT said it planned to accelerate proprietary AI-enabled network security, including anomaly analysis and faster identification and incident containment. The company’s stated portfolio includes SASE, managed SD-WAN, security, internet, voice and connectivity services. It also described GTT Envision as AI-enabled global networking across GTT and third-party cloud environments.

1Scan for outdated or missing drivers - takes under a minute2Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors3Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitchesFor scale context, GTT reported more than 700 terabits of Tier 1 network capacity and service to more than 140,000 locations in over 170 countries as 2025 achievements in its April 2026 announcement. These are company-reported network figures, not measures of Defense Halo’s detection or response efficacy. GTT’s September release also says an open letter published in late August 2026 had more than 100 signatories from technology, cybersecurity and financial-services companies; that count is likewise not evidence of attack prevalence or platform effectiveness.
Independent reader supportYour contribution helps us test, update, and keep practical guides available for everyone. What is not yet established
The launch materials do not provide independent benchmarks, false-positive rates, measured response times, efficacy results, customer case studies, pricing, contract terms or detailed customer controls for data-region selection. They therefore do not support claims that Defense Halo prevents breaches, eliminates network blind spots or outperforms endpoint- or log-centered approaches.

Quick Recap
- What network data is collected, and where collection and AI inference take place.
- How the dedicated customer instance is isolated and what data-residency choices customers can make.
- How an alert is validated, what remediation actions are available, and what approval controls apply.
- How detection quality, false positives and response performance are measured in customer deployments.
