GTA Online has two distinct clown-outfit routes. The named Slasher Clown Outfit is a complete Survival-event reward: Rockstar’s current listing says to finish 10 Survival waves without dying during the published October 29–November 4, 2026 window, with GTA$250,000 listed alongside the reward. The other route is a custom outfit built around a clown mask bought from the in-game catalog.
Choose the Slasher reward when you want the official, complete Halloween look. Choose a mask when you want to assemble your own clothing combination or buy a clown look without waiting for the event challenge.

The key difference is not just appearance. One route awards a named full outfit after a performance challenge; the other gives you an individual mask that must be paired with clothing you already own or buy separately.

These options are separate inventory items. Buying a mask does not award the Slasher Clown Outfit, and completing the Survival requirement does not give you every clown-mask variant.

What the Slasher Clown Outfit is
The Slasher Clown Outfit is presented as a single event reward rather than a recipe made from separate garments. That matters if your goal is to obtain the exact named costume: assembling a mask, shirt, trousers and shoes yourself may produce a clown-themed character, but it is not the same reward.
Rockstar Games’ current listing associates the outfit with a Survival challenge scheduled for October 29 through November 4, 2026. The same listing names GTA$250,000 as a reward. Because those dates are future-dated relative to the current listing, open the live Weekly Challenge text in GTA Online before you begin; event schedules and wording can change.
Requirements for the event reward
- Play a GTA Online Survival.
- Reach 10 waves in a single qualifying attempt.
- Do not die during that attempt. A death breaks the no-death condition, so that run no longer satisfies the requirement.
- Complete the attempt during the published event window, unless the live in-game challenge states a different period.
The requirement is a performance condition, not a purchase. You do not unlock the outfit by visiting a clothing store, buying a clown mask or owning a particular property.

Step-by-step: completing the Survival requirement
- Check the live challenge first. Open the Weekly Challenge or event information shown in GTA Online and confirm that the Slasher Clown Outfit challenge is active, along with the current end date.
- Start a Survival. Use the normal Survival activity entry in GTA Online. Select a location and launch the activity under the character who should receive the reward.
- Track the wave counter. Stay in the activity until the counter reaches wave 10. Clearing fewer waves does not meet the stated condition.
- Protect the no-death run. If your character dies, the attempt is no longer a qualifying 10-wave, no-death run. Start another attempt rather than assuming the partial progress will count.
- Finish the activity and allow the reward to post. Do not immediately leave the session after the final wave. Give the game time to display completion, cash and clothing notifications, then change sessions or visit a wardrobe if the outfit is not immediately visible.
Rockstar’s published challenge details do not specify a required difficulty, player count or particular Survival map. Do not infer one from another event: follow the conditions displayed in the active challenge.

Where to find and wear the reward
After the reward is credited, check the Seasonal outfit category first. If it is not shown there immediately, check the outfit counter at a clothes store, an apartment wardrobe or the outfit option in the Interaction Menu. Menu names and placement can differ according to the screen you are using, so check each normal outfit-management location before assuming the reward failed.
Selecting the item should equip the complete costume as one named outfit. Save it through the normal outfit system if you want a convenient slot for later use. Saving a copy is sensible because it preserves your chosen outfit slot even if you later change into another look.
Can you keep the Slasher Clown Outfit after Halloween?
The available guidance says the outfit should remain wearable after you earn it, but Rockstar has not published a specific permanent-retention guarantee. Treat the reward as an earned clothing item rather than assuming the event must remain active for you to wear it, while keeping the qualification in mind: future Rockstar policy or a technical issue could affect availability.
If you earned it during the event and cannot see it later, first check Seasonal outfits, the clothes-store Outfit counter, your apartment wardrobe and the Interaction Menu. Confirm that you are using the same character and that the challenge completion was recorded. Re-entering a session can refresh inventory displays, but it cannot turn an incomplete or death-affected attempt into a qualifying run.

Custom clown masks: every available catalog option
The mask catalog separates the ordinary Clown Plastic Face from the group of clown masks introduced with Import/Export. Each entry is an individual cosmetic item. You supply the rest of the outfit, so the final appearance depends on the clothing, colors and saved outfit combination you choose.

The Clown Plastic Face is the least expensive listed option at GTA$12,000. Among the Import/Export variants, Green Clown is the lowest at GTA$22,890 and Scavenger Clown is the highest at GTA$25,100. Buying one of each of the eight Import/Export masks would total GTA$189,480 based on the listed individual prices; that total covers masks only, not the clothing used to complete each look.
How to build a custom clown outfit
- Open the mask catalog. Browse the Heists section for Clown Plastic Face or the Import/Export clown group for the eight named variants.
- Buy the mask you want. Confirm the exact name and price before purchasing, especially when switching between similarly colored variants.
- Pair it with clothing. Use the normal clothing categories to create the rest of the costume. The catalog information establishes the masks, not an official garment-by-garment recipe for reproducing the Slasher reward.
- Save the combination. Store the completed look through the normal outfit system so you can switch back to it without rebuilding the clothing choices.
- Test the saved slot. Equip another outfit, then reselect the saved clown combination. This confirms that the mask and clothing were stored together in the slot you intended.
A custom mask route is therefore flexible but not identical to the event reward. You can change colors, add different clothing and maintain several saved variations, while the Slasher Clown Outfit remains the named complete costume.

Choose the Slasher Clown Outfit when the exact reward matters
Use the Survival route if you specifically want the named Halloween outfit, prefer a complete costume instead of assembling separate items, or want the event’s listed GTA$250,000 reward as part of the challenge. Plan around the published dates and verify the active Weekly Challenge before investing time in a run.

Choose Clown Plastic Face for the simplest purchase
The Heists mask is the direct, lower-cost entry point. It lets you create a clown appearance without meeting the 10-wave, no-death condition. It is still only a mask, so you must choose and save the rest of the clothing yourself.
Choose an Import/Export variant for a specific style
Pick among Sinister, Franken, Neon, Scavenger, Orange, Green, Blue and Red when a particular color or design is more important than owning the event reward. The prices are higher than Clown Plastic Face, but they provide more named variants for custom styling.

The event challenge is not visible
Do not rely on an old calendar entry. Check the current Weekly Challenge or event panel in GTA Online. The published October 29–November 4, 2026 dates are future-dated in the current listing, so the live in-game text is the final check for whether the activity is active and what conditions apply.

The stated condition is 10 waves without dying. A death invalidates that attempt even if the wave counter had already reached 10. Repeat the Survival and keep the character alive through the qualifying completion.

The reward notification appeared, but the outfit is missing
Look in Seasonal outfits, then check the clothes-store Outfit counter, an apartment wardrobe and the Interaction Menu outfit option. Change sessions and check again if the inventory display has not refreshed. Also verify that you are on the character who completed the challenge.
You bought a clown mask but expected the full costume
Catalog masks are components, not the named Slasher Clown Outfit. Equip the mask with clothing and save the combination as a custom outfit. Buying any listed mask does not unlock the event reward.
You want to recreate the Slasher look exactly
The available catalog information does not provide an official Rockstar garment-by-garment recipe. You can make a similar clown-themed combination, but only the Survival reward is identified as the complete named outfit.
Bottom line for a GTA Online clown look
There is no single universal clown item. The Slasher Clown Outfit is the time-limited Survival reward requiring 10 waves without dying, while the mask catalog offers a permanent-style customisation path built from individual purchases. Verify the live event text, complete the no-death run if you want the named reward, and use Clown Plastic Face or an Import/Export variant when you value immediate access and control over the final style.
