Jason Duval and Lucia Caminos are the two protagonists Rockstar foregrounds in Grand Theft Auto VI. The official story links them through a failed score and a criminal conspiracy spanning Leonida, where they are forced to rely on each other. Rockstar has revealed pieces of their pasts and immediate aims, but not the full story or where their partnership ends.
Who are Jason and Lucia in GTA 6?
Rockstar presents Jason and Lucia as the central pair in GTA VI’s published story synopsis. Their connection is clearest in the plot setup: an easy score goes wrong, pulling them into a criminal conspiracy across the fictional state of Leonida. They must rely on each other if they hope to get out alive. Rockstar’s official game page and Take-Two’s May 6, 2025 announcement reproducing the synopsis establish that premise.

That is a crime-linked partnership, but the published material does not establish whether they are romantically involved, who takes the lead, or whether either will betray the other. “Bonnie and Clyde” comparisons and predictions about their relationship are interpretations, not confirmed biography.

What is Jason Duval’s backstory?
Rockstar says Jason grew up around “grifters and crooks,” spent time in the Army while trying to move on from troubled teenage years, and later worked for local drug runners in the Keys. His short biography sums up his immediate desire this way: “Jason wants an easy life, but things just keep getting harder.” These details come from Rockstar’s official character information page.
#1 Best Overall
The biography sketches a man already familiar with criminal life who would prefer less trouble. It does not give a complete history or explain what Jason’s Army service involved beyond that brief description.
What is Lucia Caminos’s backstory?
Rockstar’s biography says Lucia fought for her family and was imprisoned in Leonida Penitentiary. After her release, she is committed to improving her position and pursuing the better life her mother dreamed of while they were in Liberty City. The official description calls her ready to take matters into her own hands.

Lucia’s determination is clear; the exact events behind her imprisonment and the details of her family’s circumstances are not. Rockstar describes life with Jason as a possible route forward, rather than confirming a particular outcome for their relationship.
