This is a report, not an offer confirmed by Costco. Check the current price, eligibility and terms before buying.
How the reported $20 saving works
The reported discount is on PlayStation Store credit, not on GTA VI itself. If you can buy $100 of credit for $79.99 and redeem it for the $99.99 Ultimate Edition preorder, you would have about $20 of credit left. That remaining balance is why the game’s effective cost can be described as $20 below its listed price, assuming you can use the leftover credit later.

What GTA VI costs on the US PlayStation Store
| Edition | US PlayStation Store price | What to know |
|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | Rockstar Support says buyers can purchase the Ultimate Edition Upgrade separately after redeeming the game code. The current separate upgrade price is not established. |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | Includes the game, Ultimate Edition Upgrade, Vintage Vice City Pack, one month of GTA+, and seven-day preload. |
These are the listed US digital prices; the reported Costco gift-card price does not change the PlayStation Store price. Take-Two describes the Ultimate extras as an exclusive collection of premium vehicles, weapons, apparel and action woven into Jason and Lucia’s story.
#1 Best Overall
- Redeem for anything on PlayStationStore: games, add-ons, PlayStationPlus and more.
- Everything you want to play. Choose from the largest library of PlayStation content.
- Use gift card funds to contribute towards PlayStationPlus memberships.
Should you buy Ultimate now or start with Standard?
The lower-risk choice depends on whether you want the Ultimate extras and whether the reported credit deal checks out. Rockstar confirms that Standard Edition owners can upgrade after redeeming their game code, but the current upgrade price is not stated in its researched support information. That means you cannot reliably compare the total cost of Standard plus a later upgrade with the $99.99 Ultimate price using the available figures.
- Choose Ultimate if you want its included extras and prefer to buy the package upfront. The reported Costco credit could reduce your effective outlay if the offer is valid and you can use the remaining balance.
- Choose Standard if its $79.99 listed price suits you and you would rather decide about the extra content later. Check the upgrade price before assuming this route will cost less overall.
Release, platforms and preorder details

Rockstar Support lists PS5 and Xbox Series X|S as preorder platforms. Its support information says physical versions contain a download code; it does not establish a disc-based physical edition.
