The story rests on one claim: a Reddit user said they worked at a news station and saw a 45-second entry labelled “GTA VI TV SPOT” in an internal schedule. No air date, station or footage has been made public, and Rockstar has not confirmed a TV ad.
Where the claim came from
TalkEsport, in an October 5, 2026 report by Aritra Patra, attributes the claim to the Reddit account u/InformalHamster5950. That user reportedly said they worked at a news station and had seen the schedule line. The outlet says the post has since been deleted.

A post on X by Mitch (@miiitchx), dated October 5, 2026 and reproduced by TalkEsport, summed it up: “A reddit user who works at a news station has claimed to see GTA 6 on the schedule with no date, unsure if it’s real but it’s still up atm”. That is a description of an unverified Reddit claim, not a statement from a broadcaster or from Rockstar.

Is it real?
Nobody can say yet. A schedule line described by an anonymous poster, with the original post deleted, can’t be checked. Several things stop it counting as evidence:

- The poster and the station are both unidentified, so there is no way to confirm the person works where they say.
- Internal schedules can contain placeholder entries, so a listing alone doesn’t prove a finished ad exists or will air.
- The reporter himself notes the entry has no date and doesn’t establish a broadcast.
- Rockstar’s official GTA VI page lists official trailers, an extended look and media downloads. It does not mention a TV spot.
The claim isn’t impossible, since a major release invites TV marketing. It is simply unproven. No named Rockstar representative or broadcaster has commented on this spot, so any “confirmation” you see attributed to them should be treated as invented.
About the rumoured air dates
TalkEsport mentions fan speculation about a late-October window and an October 18 date inferred from TV scheduling. The report is explicit that the schedule entry carries no date. Treat these as guesses, not broadcast information.

- Take-Two’s June 24, 2026 pre-order announcement says the boxed version contains a download code inside the box rather than a game disc, with preloading available from November 12.
- Rockstar also lists The Vice City Collection, a premium limited-edition collectible set, which has no bearing on the leak.
How to judge any “leaked” ad that appears
- Look for Rockstar’s own channels first. A real spot will almost certainly be posted there.
- Be wary of clips with no source. AI-generated or fan-edited videos can easily be passed off as TV spots.
- Check whether a named outlet has seen the footage or only repeats the Reddit claim.
- Don’t treat a viral post’s confidence, or its repost count, as proof.
The Bottom Line
Treat the GTA 6 TV spot as a rumour: one deleted Reddit claim, relayed second-hand, with no date, station or footage. Rockstar’s official channels are the only place a real commercial will be confirmed, and details may change quickly.
