A reported U.S. Costco offer could make a Grand Theft Auto VI preorder cost about 20% less in effective terms—but it is not a discount on the game at checkout. GamingBible reported that a $100 PlayStation gift card was selling for $79.99, against a stated $99.99 price for the PS5 Ultimate Edition. The deal’s availability and current terms are not confirmed, so check them before buying.
How the reported 20% saving is calculated
GamingBible’s Kate Harrold reported on October 6, 2026, that Costco was offering a $100 PlayStation gift card for $79.99. The same article gave $99.99 as the PS5 Ultimate Edition preorder price. If the card can be used for that purchase, the buyer spends $79.99 for credit worth $100—$20 less than the stated game price, or about 20% of $99.99.

This is an effective-cost comparison, not a Rockstar price cut or a coupon that reduces the displayed game price. The calculation also assumes the card is eligible for the intended PlayStation Store transaction and that the $99.99 price applies to the buyer’s region and account. GamingBible’s report does not establish live retailer stock or terms.
What the deal means by location and platform
United States: PlayStation example
The specific $79.99-for-$100 arithmetic is a U.S. Costco PlayStation-card example paired with the reported PS5 Ultimate Edition price. GamingBible said the offer was expected to run through October 11, 2026, unless it sold out first. That was the reported end date, not confirmation that the promotion is still available.

United Kingdom: separate gift-card examples
GamingBible also cited 10% off a £100 PlayStation Store gift card at Loaded and 7% off a £90 Xbox gift card. These are separate UK examples; they do not establish that the U.S. Costco offer is available in the UK, or that the Xbox card produces the same saving on GTA VI.
Xbox: do not transfer the PlayStation calculation
Xbox Series X/S is among the platforms GamingBible lists for launch, but the article does not give an Xbox preorder price or equivalent U.S. gift-card calculation. A discounted card only helps if it is for the right platform and can be redeemed for the particular purchase. Check the retailer’s terms and the platform store before paying.

Which GTA VI edition the reported price covers
The $99.99 figure in GamingBible’s calculation is for the PS5 Ultimate Edition, not a general price for every edition, platform, or region. The article describes that edition as including the base game plus in-game cosmetics, vehicles, stores, and other bonuses, including the ’95 Grotti Cheetah, Hawk & Little Morgan Revolvers, Vice City Style Cosmetics, Jason’s Safehouse Vehicles, Shitzu Squalo, and Classic Car Collection.

What to check before buying a discounted card
- Match the platform and country. Confirm that the card is for PlayStation Store or Xbox as needed and is valid for your account’s region.
- Check the purchase terms. Verify the live card price, stock, expiration, redemption rules, and any limits directly with the retailer. The Costco offer reported by GamingBible could sell out before its stated October 11, 2026 end date.
- Confirm the game price and edition. Check the current listing in your platform’s store; the $99.99 figure is GamingBible’s reported U.S. PS5 Ultimate Edition comparison, not a verified universal price.
- Make sure the credit covers the intended transaction. Verify that the card can be used for the preorder and that your account can redeem it before treating its face value as usable savings.
- Choose the edition for its contents, not an assumed upgrade. The Standard-to-Ultimate upgrade fee was unconfirmed in GamingBible’s report, so do not count on upgrading later for free.
Release and preload dates in the report
GamingBible reported November 19, 2026, as the launch date for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X/S, and November 12 as the preload date for preorder customers. Those dates come from that article and were not independently verified against an official publisher announcement; check current platform-store or publisher information for the latest details.
