TweakTown reported that Sensor Tower estimated 4.38 million GTA VI pre-orders and approximately $429 million in revenue through August 18, 2026. TweakTown characterized the figures as third-party estimates, not numbers disclosed by Rockstar or Take-Two. The available figures do not answer that. Calling the total “low” requires a fair comparison with another game measured on the same basis: the same time window, platform coverage, geography, physical and digital sales coverage, edition mix, and definition of revenue. The sources here do not provide a sufficiently documented comparable dataset, so they support neither a “low” nor a “high” verdict.

Why a later estimate is not a clean update
LeonidaGuide later reported a Sensor Tower estimate of roughly 4.6 million copies, but it did not specify the measurement cutoff.
