When the GTA 6 launch trailer came out

The launch-trailer announcement confirms that the video contains new footage, but Rockstar’s launch page does not provide a shot-by-shot scene list. Without an official scene breakdown, the reliable takeaway is the trailer’s status as the launch presentation and the information Rockstar attaches to it, rather than an assumed list of individual scenes or characters.

The trailer debuts “Flower in a Hurricane” by Justice featuring Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard. Rockstar identifies Justice as composers of the game’s original score. That makes the track a confirmed launch-trailer debut; it does not, by itself, establish the complete in-game soundtrack or every song that will appear on the radio.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19. Code can only be used by users holding an account for PlayStation registered to the US or Canada.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
“Check out the Launch Trailer, featuring the debut of ‘Flower in a Hurricane’ from original score composers Justice feat. Tame Impala, SZA, and King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard.”
GTA 6 release date and consoles
Grand Theft Auto VI is scheduled to launch on November 19, 2026 for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X|S. Those are the platforms named in the current Rockstar and Take-Two announcements.
Rank #2
- STUNNING VISUALS — Enhanced levels of fidelity and performance with new graphics modes featuring up to 4K resolution, up to 60 frames per second, HDR options, ray tracing, improved texture quality, and more
- FASTER LOADING — Quicker access to the action as the world of Los Santos and Blaine County load in faster than ever before.
- ADAPTIVE TRIGGERS AND HAPTIC FEEDBACK — Feel every moment through the DualSense controller, from directional damage to weather effects, rough road surfaces to explosions, and more.
- TEMPEST 3D AUDIO — Hear the sounds of the world with pinpoint precision: the throttle of a stolen supercar, the rattle of neighbouring gunfire, the roar of a helicopter overhead, and more.
- Please note that although this game is Region Free or Region Unlocked and will work on all systems, this is the European version and may differ from the local version in age rating, labeling or instructions.
No PC release date is included in those announcements. Buyers should therefore treat November 19 as the console launch date, not as confirmation of a simultaneous PC version. The same applies to older PlayStation or Xbox hardware: the announced platforms are the current-generation PS5 and Xbox Series X|S systems.

Story setup: Jason, Lucia and Leonida
Rockstar’s synopsis follows Jason and Lucia after an easy score goes wrong. They become entangled in a criminal conspiracy stretching across the state of Leonida and must rely on each other to survive. Vice City is the central setting, while Leonida provides the wider state-level backdrop for the story.

Rockstar describes the pair as people who already understand that “the deck is stacked against them.” The launch material frames their partnership, the failed job and the conspiracy as the foundation of the campaign, without publishing a full plot outline.
Prices and editions
Take-Two has announced two editions. The prices below are the stated launch prices in US dollars.

- Dive back into the iconic world of Carmen Sandiego, reimagined for a new era
- For the first time in history you get to play as Carmen Sandiego
- Use State-of-the-Art Gadgets – Glide, swing, and spy with Carmen’s high-tech gear
- Track suspects, collect clues, decipher codes, & solve puzzles & capers
| Edition | Price | Platforms | Launch access |
|---|---|---|---|
| Standard Edition | $79.99 | PlayStation 5; Xbox Series X|S | November 19, 2026 |
| Ultimate Edition | $99.99 | PlayStation 5; Xbox Series X|S | November 19, 2026 |
The $20 difference buys the Ultimate Edition’s premium items and associated pre-order benefits, including the Vintage Vice City benefits identified in the launch information. Rockstar has not itemized every premium item in the details available here, so the price difference should not be read as a complete list of included content.
Pre-loading and physical copies
Digital pre-loading begins on November 12, 2026, one week before launch. Starting the download on that date is intended to let purchasers prepare their console before access opens on November 19; it does not move the playable launch date forward.
Best Value
- Join the revolution as Dani Rojas and liberate your nation from Anton Castillo's oppression.
- Dive into a blockbuster experience and immerse yourself in the journey of a guerrilla revolutionary.
- Explore the largest open world in Far Cry history, including the first ever sprawling urban city.
- Discover new animal companions like Chorizo, the adorable wiener dog, to take down enemies.
- Unleash the firepower of specialized makeshift weapons and new backpacks to use against Anton's troops.
The physical version is also available November 12 and contains a download code. That format therefore supplies a physical package while still requiring a game download, rather than promising a traditional game disc with the full software installed on it.
| Purchase format | Availability or action | What it means |
|---|---|---|
| Digital | Pre-load starts November 12, 2026 | Download ahead of the November 19 launch |
| Physical package | Available November 12, 2026 | Package contains a download code |
Physical music and collector items
Rockstar is promoting GTAVI: The Album for vinyl and CD pre-order. Its official channels also promote a Vice City Collection and a collector’s box. These are separate physical-media and merchandise offerings, not evidence that either game edition includes the album or collector’s box automatically.
Which version should you choose?
Choose the Standard Edition if price is the priority
At $79.99, the Standard Edition is the lower-cost route to the announced PS5 or Xbox Series X|S launch. It receives the same November 19 release access and can be pre-loaded digitally from November 12.
Choose the Ultimate Edition for its listed extras
The $99.99 Ultimate Edition is aimed at buyers who want its premium items and Vintage Vice City pre-order benefits. The available announcement does not establish additional performance, resolution or frame-rate advantages, so those should not be assumed from the name.
Choose digital or physical based on your setup
Digital buyers can begin pre-loading on November 12 without waiting for a package. The physical option is available the same day but uses a download code, so it still requires internet access and storage for the game download.
