No. A South Korean Adults Only or 19+ rating for Grand Theft Auto VI has not been confirmed by an authoritative GRAC decision. The official Korean PlayStation page says the game’s age rating was still unconfirmed when that page was written, despite a secondary report claiming that a 19+ label appeared on a Korean storefront.
What the official Korean listing says
The Korean PlayStation product page lists Grand Theft Auto VI for PlayStation 5 with a release date of November 19, 2026. Its rating notice is explicit: “Grand Theft Auto VI’s age rating is not confirmed as of the time of writing.” That is the strongest regional evidence currently available, and it does not support reporting that GRAC has already classified the game Adults Only.

A storefront label can change before launch, and a regional product page can be updated later. Until a public rating record or a direct statement from the Korean ratings authority, Rockstar Games or PlayStation Korea appears, the specific Korean classification remains unsettled.
How the Adults Only claim started
A secondary Korean article said the Korean storefront displayed a GRAC 19+ classification after a private board review. The report did not provide a publicly verifiable GRAC decision or board statement in the available material. It also conflicts with the official PlayStation Korea wording, which still marks the rating as unconfirmed.
#1 Best Overall
- This product contains a download code inside the box — no disc is included. Customer shipments will begin arriving November 12 for pre-load; game is playable starting November 19.
- Pre-order to receive the Vintage Vice City Pack.
- Grand Theft Auto VI is a single-player experience.
That makes the claim an unverified storefront or secondary-media report, not proof of a final regulatory decision. “Private board review” describes an alleged process; it does not establish that a legally valid rating was issued or published.
How game ratings work in South Korea
South Korean law requires games distributed in the country to receive a rating from the Game Rating and Administration Committee (GRAC) or the Game Content Rating Board (GCRB) before distribution. The official GCRB framework includes an Adult Only category.
Rank #2
GRAC regulations assess a game in its overall context. The criteria include:
Recommended Free Tools
- Provocative or sexual content
- Violence
- Crime or drug use
- Inappropriate language
The existence of an Adult Only category explains why a 19+ label would be legally possible, but it does not show that GTA VI has received that category. A final rating normally needs an identifiable authority record or an official publication, neither of which is established here.
Rank #3
- Rule the city streets in a thrilling open-world crime adventure.
- Drive luxury cars, bikes, and police vehicles in epic missions.
- Fight gang wars, escape police chases, and dominate turf battles.
- Explore a massive urban map packed with action and secrets.
- Play offline anytime — no internet required for crime fun!
What rating does GTA 6 have elsewhere?
The ESRB record for PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series rates Grand Theft Auto VI M for Mature 17+. The listed content descriptors are Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Mature Humor, Nudity, Strong Language, Strong Sexual Content, Use of Drugs and Alcohol, and In-Game Purchases.
That ESRB decision is separate from the Korean process. Ratings are issued by jurisdiction, so an ESRB M rating cannot substitute for a GRAC or GCRB decision.
Rank #4
| Jurisdiction and board | Platform or scope | Age category | Decision status | Content information |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| South Korea — GRAC/GCRB framework | Korean distribution | Adult Only category exists; GTA VI category not confirmed | No authoritative public GTA VI Adults Only decision established | South Korean criteria cover sexual content, violence, crime or drugs, and language |
| United States — ESRB | PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series | Mature 17+ | Rating record published | Blood and Gore; Intense Violence; Mature Humor; Nudity; Strong Language; Strong Sexual Content; Use of Drugs and Alcohol; In-Game Purchases |
Can you buy GTA 6 in South Korea?
The Korean PlayStation page confirms a PS5 listing and the November 19, 2026 release date, but the available evidence does not establish the final Korean age classification or every condition for local sale. Distribution in South Korea requires the relevant rating before release. Retail and digital availability should therefore be checked against the updated Korean PlayStation listing and an official GRAC or GCRB record as launch approaches.
An Adults Only decision, if eventually published, could affect who may legally purchase or access the Korean release and how it is distributed. That consequence cannot be applied to GTA VI yet because the alleged 19+ result has not been verified.
What to watch for next
- Look for a searchable GRAC or GCRB entry naming Grand Theft Auto VI, including the decision date, platform and category.
- Check whether the Korean PlayStation product page replaces its “rating is not confirmed” notice with a final classification.
- Compare any new Korean decision with the existing ESRB record rather than treating the two systems as interchangeable.
- Rely on a direct Rockstar Games or PlayStation Korea announcement for changes to the Korean release or purchasing conditions.
Until one of those authoritative updates appears, “GTA 6 rated Adults Only in South Korea” should be treated as an unconfirmed claim, not a settled fact.
