Commenters also warn that community mapping is not guaranteed to be perfectly accurate, so a pin or building symbol should be treated as evidence of an investigation rather than proof of the final game layout.

Leonida Explorer’s October 13, 2026 change log reports 3,149 mapped points, including 206 new places. It also records 72 names resolved to exact districts and hundreds of repositioned pins. The same update says the mapping community’s dataset, based on gtadb.org data, moved forward 21 commits.

Those numbers describe the current community dataset. They are not a Rockstar location count and should not be read as 3,149 separate gameplay destinations. A point may represent a building, business, landmark, road feature, district label or another mapped observation.
More detail in inland areas
WikiGTAVI’s October 15, 2026 update says the Version 17 preview adds newly detailed inland areas alongside its interiors layer. The map therefore expands beyond the most heavily documented coastal and urban footage, although no cited source provides a complete itemized list of every inland addition.

Coverage does not mean every region has the same confidence level. Urban areas shown repeatedly in official media generally have stronger evidence than locations inferred from a single frame or community interpretation.
How many GTA 6 interiors are enterable?
WikiGTAVI reports about 296 confirmed interiors counted by the community in its October 15, 2026 update. That figure is an estimate produced by map analysts, not an official Rockstar statistic.
Rockstar has publicly described the number only as being “in the hundreds.” No exact total has been published, and the final number can change before release. The community count should therefore be used as a snapshot of Version 17’s evidence, not a guarantee that 296 specific interiors will be accessible in the shipped game.

In the Version 17 convention, blue buildings indicate a known or suspected interior, while grey buildings indicate that no interior is currently known to the mapping community. On the interactive map, approaching a blue building can reveal a 3D floor plan.
The color is a navigation aid for the community map, not a confirmed game rule. A blue symbol means the analysts have evidence for an interior, but it does not establish that the building will be enterable in every mode, that it will remain in the final release, or that every room shown in a floor plan will be accessible. The original project post’s shorthand that blue buildings are enterable should be read in that community-analysis context.

Version 17 mixes several evidence types. Leonida Explorer distinguishes community structures from trailer and screenshot finds and says leak-reported pins can be hidden by default and labelled separately. GTAMI labels its interactive map “YANIS V16 · WIP Official media + community positions,” states that it is a work in progress, and notes that community positions have not been verified against a released game.

- Official media evidence: a building, road or interior visibly shown in an official trailer or screenshot.
- Community identification: a location inferred by comparing footage, screenshots and map geometry.
- Leak-derived claims: pins based on leaked material, which may be hidden or separately labelled and should carry the greatest uncertainty.
What Version 17 does not establish
- There is no authoritative, itemized changelog naming all 206 new places.
- The 3,149-point total is not an official count of locations in GTA 6.
- The approximately 296 interiors are a community tally, not Rockstar’s final number.
- Blue-building status does not guarantee final-game access.
