Is Grok an AI girlfriend?
That label is an interpretation, not Grok’s basic product definition. Grok is a general conversational assistant that can also present character-like companion experiences. The Associated Press has reported that Grok, which launched in 2023, has faced controversy over hateful or inflammatory outputs and scrutiny from governments. That history matters when evaluating provocative character marketing or screenshots: an AI’s generated text can reflect prompts, system settings or failures, and is not automatically an authoritative statement from Musk or xAI.
