MADFINGER Games CEO and co-founder Marek Rabas has acknowledged that Gray Zone Warfare cannot prevent every cheat, while saying the studio intends to identify offenders and remove them quickly. Insider Gaming attributed the remark to Rabas during a media briefing about the upcoming Rogue Ops update; no primary recording or transcript of that briefing was located.

What the Gray Zone Warfare CEO said

According to Insider Gaming’s report, Rabas said: “We cannot prohibit all the cheating, but we can find these people and kick them out as soon as possible.”

The wording describes a goal and response plan, not a claim that cheating has been eliminated or that every cheater can be detected. Insider Gaming is the source for the quotation, and its briefing account has not been independently corroborated by a published transcript or recording.

What MADFINGER has officially disclosed about anti-cheat

MADFINGER’s official anti-cheat announcement says the studio integrated Denuvo technology with the Winds of War update to make tampering harder. It specifically says this is not Denuvo DRM and that the studio is not introducing new kernel-level anti-cheat measures.

  • New Pointstreak system that rewards players both for landing kills and completing objectives
  • Weapons proficiency system that allows you to customize your favorite weapons, making them more effiecent in any map or mode
  • Online/offline 2-player co-op Special Ops Survival mode that earns you experience through 16 frantic objective-based missions
  • New play modes, including: Kill Confirmed mode, Team Defender mode and user generated match modes
  • Integration with 'Call of Duty: Elite,' an online multiplayer oriented service launched simultaneously with Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 3
Published point What it means
Denuvo technology integrated An anti-tampering measure intended to make manipulation more difficult.
No Denuvo DRM The announcement does not describe the technology as copy-protection DRM for the game.
No new kernel-level anti-cheat MADFINGER says it is not adding a new anti-cheat component operating at the kernel level.
Implementation details withheld The studio says revealing specific measures could help cheat developers adapt.

MADFINGER also reports that its internal benchmarks found no detrimental effect on frame rate or system responsiveness. That is the developer’s own testing statement, not an independent performance review.

Why the technical details are limited

The studio says, “We won’t be going into further detail about the specific anti-cheat measures we’ve implemented,” because disclosure could reduce their effectiveness. The public information therefore establishes the broad technology choice and exclusions, but not the exact detection rules, telemetry, or guaranteed response time.

How to report a suspected cheater

MADFINGER asks players to include conclusive video evidence when submitting a cheating report, as explained in its anti-cheat announcement. A suspicion without clear supporting footage is not the same as a confirmed violation, so preserve a clip that shows the relevant behavior and include the surrounding context when possible.

  • Record the incident clearly rather than relying only on a written accusation.
  • Include enough footage to show what happened before and after the suspected violation.
  • Submit the evidence through MADFINGER’s designated reporting channel and avoid presenting an unverified allegation as a confirmed cheat.

What the “close to 40 accounts” enforcement figure means

In a September 18 security report in the official Gray Zone Warfare Steam news archive, MADFINGER said its investigation identified close to 40 accounts that deliberately exploited an item-duplication bug during the Update 0.4 cycle. The announced measures included temporary suspensions and account wipes.

The exploit involved helicopter deaths and duplicated resources. MADFINGER said repeated use affected the in-game economy and the PvP experience, including players using duplicated resources to purchase mortar strikes. A hotfix addressed the issue, and the studio said the investigation was complete.

“Close to 40” is a count for that specific exploit investigation. It is not a total number of cheaters, a prevalence estimate, or a measurement of how many players use ordinary cheats.

Why Update 0.5: Rogue Ops is part of the story

Rabas’s reported comments came in a briefing focused on Rogue Ops, the next major update. MADFINGER’s October 1 Steam announcement lists a Supporter Preview beginning October 19, 2026, for Supporter Edition owners, followed by the planned launch on October 22, 2026. Those dates were future schedule details as of October 2 and can change.

The official Gray Zone Warfare site describes the game as a PvE-first, open-world tactical shooter. The update context does not change the limits of the anti-cheat promise: the studio says it wants faster identification and removal, while conceding that it cannot prohibit all cheating.

What players can reasonably expect

  • A stated enforcement objective: MADFINGER wants to find offenders and remove them as soon as possible.
  • Broad technical information: The studio has described Denuvo anti-tampering technology, while ruling out Denuvo DRM and new kernel-level measures.
  • No public detection-rate guarantee: The sources do not quantify how many cheaters the studio can identify or how quickly every case will be resolved.
  • Evidence-based reporting: Players are asked to provide conclusive video evidence.
  • Confirmed action on a specific exploit: The close-to-40 figure concerns deliberate abuse of one duplication issue, not cheating across the whole game.
