Gaudy is the only trait that both recent guides place in S tier for Grand Blue, the Roblox game. The two lists disagree on most other S-tier picks, so the “best” trait depends on whether you are fighting, leveling, or trying to build around a specific playstyle. This article compares the current rankings, explains what each trait does as the guides describe it, and gives you a keep-or-reroll checklist.

The descriptions below come from the guides named in each entry. We have not checked them against in-game text or a developer source, so read them as the publishers’ explanations.
Gaudy
Roblox Den describes Gaudy as adding an extra accessory slot. That is a utility benefit rather than a damage bonus, which is why it can rank highly on both lists without being a combat pick.
Limit Breaker
Roblox Den describes Limit Breaker as granting an extra skill upgrade. Its value depends on which skills you actually upgrade, so it is most useful when you have a build that invests in them.

Prodigy
Roblox Den describes Prodigy as an experience boost. It is a progression trait: it helps you level faster and does not change how a fight plays out.
Man of Steel
Roblox Den describes Man of Steel as helping you resist interruption from small attacks. This is a defensive or reliability benefit, useful when you want to keep acting through minor hits.
Copycat
Pro Game Guides describes Copycat as copying an opponent’s skill, but only when that opponent uses a qualifying skill. Its value is therefore set by the matchup. Against opponents who rarely use qualifying skills, it may do very little.

Maniac
Pro Game Guides describes Maniac as switching its effect at a health threshold. Below half health it gives a damage bonus and damage reduction. Above half health it applies a damage penalty. Maniac is strongest for players who fight at low health on purpose and weakest for players who keep their health high.

Battle Tempo
Pro Game Guides describes Battle Tempo as rewarding sustained aggression. It can also lose accumulated value, so a fight that stalls or resets can waste the benefit.
Glass Cannon
Pro Game Guides describes Glass Cannon as raising your damage while increasing the damage you take. It suits offensive builds that can avoid being hit. It is a poor fit for players who want to survive long fights.

Pyromaniac
Pro Game Guides describes Pyromaniac as a burn-focused pick that works best with a burn-oriented build. It is a conditional choice: without burn effects in your build, it has little to offer.

A single tier does not tell you whether a trait fits your situation. Use five questions to compare traits:

- Direct combat impact: Does the trait raise damage or change how a fight goes? Copycat, Maniac, Battle Tempo, and Glass Cannon are the main examples in the guides above.
- Defensive value and reliability: Does it help you survive or keep acting? Man of Steel is the clearest example.
- Build or matchup conditions: Does it need a specific health level, a burn build, or an opponent who uses a certain skill? Most of the conditional traits in the S tier need one of these.
- Progression or farming utility: Does it speed up leveling or give you extra room in your loadout? Prodigy and Gaudy fall here.
- Opportunity cost: If rerolls are limited, what do you give up by spending a roll on this trait instead of another?
Sportskeeda’s guide, last modified October 3, 2026, uses a similar set of axes: usefulness, consistency, combat value, and progression benefits, and it notes that rerolls are limited. Keep or reroll: a practical checklist
- Keep a trait whose condition you meet in most of your fights. A conditional trait you trigger regularly is worth more than a higher-tier trait you rarely activate.
- Keep a utility trait like Gaudy or Prodigy if your goal is progression and you value the extra slot or experience more than combat gains.
- Reroll a conditional trait if your playstyle does not meet its requirement. For example, a Maniac roll is a poor keep if you avoid low-health fights, and Glass Cannon is a poor keep if you rely on surviving long encounters.
- Spend limited rerolls on traits that fit your main goal. If the game limits rerolls in your version, a roll spent on a trait you will not use is a roll you cannot spend later.
- Do not decide by rarity. Gamezebo cautions that even Mythic traits are subjective in value, so a rare trait is not automatically the right keep. Source: Gamezebo’s Grand Blue traits tier list.
Limits of these rankings
Rankings in this game change as the game updates. The guides cited here are dated, and their placements may not match a later patch or a different server’s experience. The guides also disagree with each other, so use them to narrow your options rather than to find a single correct answer.
Some guides list rarity odds for traits. We have not confirmed those figures against a primary source, so this article does not repeat them. If you need odds, check the game’s own in-game information first.
The Bottom Line
Start with the trait that matches how you actually fight or level. Gaudy is the safest S-tier choice across both lists, while the conditional combat traits pay off only when your build meets their requirements.
