How the TV Backlight 3 Pro matches screen colors
A triple-camera sensor sits above the TV and captures screen colors; the strip behind the set then changes to follow what is displayed. That makes the 3 Pro different from a system that reads video through an HDMI box: it uses a camera pointed at the screen instead of relying on the HDMI signal path. Govee describes HDR color capture processed at 1080p/30fps, multi-zone calibration and dual exposure. These are manufacturer descriptions, not independent measurements. Govee’s US product listing also advertises AI Film Mood Matching and synchronization with up to 10 Govee devices.

The camera approach means the room and camera position matter. Govee warns that interfering light, direct bright light and reflections on the screen can affect operation. What Govee specifies—and what one reviewer observed
Govee’s US listing names RGBWWIC lighting, Matter support, multi-zone calibration and the camera-processing features described above. Its UK listing for the H66A0 specifies a 3.6 m strip, 337 lm/m, 75 LEDs/m, 13 calibration points, a triple camera with an 86° × 3 camera angle, 12 V and 36 W. It also lists 2.4 GHz Wi-Fi plus Bluetooth, Alexa, Google and Matter control, and synchronization with up to 10 DreamView devices. These are manufacturer-published UK specifications; do not assume every figure applies to the H66A1 or to packages sold in other regions.
In an October 22, 2025 review, Android Central reported installing the kit on a 75-inch TV in just over 10 minutes. The reviewer said the camera covered the TV’s length and described the 3 Pro as brighter and better at rendering HDR colors than their previous T2 experience. That is one reviewer’s account, not a controlled comparison or a guarantee of what you will see in your room. The same review found the AI film-atmosphere filter of questionable use in their experience.

Setup: reduce light and reflection problems
Govee’s UK setup guidance advises keeping interfering light away from the camera and avoiding direct bright light or reflections on the TV screen, because they can affect operation. It also says the setup distance from the TV edge can be adjusted to suit the television’s size.

- Check the top edge. Make sure the camera can be positioned above the screen and has a clear view. Compatibility with every bezel or mounting layout is not established.
- Inspect the room. Look for nearby light sources that shine toward the camera or create bright reflections on the screen; follow Govee’s guidance to keep interfering light and reflections out of the camera’s view.
- Use the size-specific model. Choose H66A0 for a 55–65-inch TV or H66A1 for a 75–85-inch TV, then follow the setup instructions for the exact package.
- Adjust the camera-to-edge distance. Govee says this distance can be adjusted to suit TV size. Check the camera’s view after positioning it rather than assuming one placement fits every screen.
Smart-home control and price depend on the listing
Govee lists Matter on its US product page; its UK H66A0 specifications also name Alexa and Google. Android Central reported Matter, Google Assistant, Alexa and Home Assistant control in its October 2025 review. That does not establish identical behavior or feature availability in every ecosystem, region or setup, so check the product listing and the platform you use if a specific integration matters.

Price is time- and listing-dependent. Govee’s US listing showed $209.99 when accessed on October 7, 2026. Android Central reported review-era prices of $179 for the standard-size version and $209 for the larger version on October 22, 2025. Those dated amounts may reflect different variants or listing conditions; check the live listing for the selected model rather than treating them as directly comparable prices.
