A leak points to a Fitbit tracker called the Edge: a display-equipped band reportedly priced at €179 in Europe and £159 in the UK, with a 1.34-inch AMOLED screen, built-in GPS and ECG. As of October 7, 2026, Google has not announced it, and the coverage we reviewed contains no official Edge product page. Everything below is reported, not confirmed.
What the leak says about price
Android Authority reported on October 6, citing Dealabs, that the Edge may cost €179 in Europe and £159 in the UK. 9to5Google estimated that this could translate to roughly $180 in the United States. That figure is an estimate, not a US price from Google or a retailer.

| Display | 1.34-inch rectangular AMOLED touchscreen, always-on mode |
| Build | Aluminum case, 17.7 g |
| Durability | IP68 and 5 ATM |
| Connectivity | Bluetooth 5.4, built-in GPS (Wi-Fi omitted from the comparison table) |
| Battery | Up to 7 days without always-on display, up to 2 days with it; possibly user-replaceable |
| Phone support | Android 11+ and iOS 16.4+ (reported minimums) |
The gap between seven days and two is the number to watch. If it holds, the always-on screen costs most of the battery life, so the choice of display mode will matter more than on a typical screen-free tracker.

Reported health and smart features
Health and fitness
- Altimeter, SpO2 and skin temperature sensing
- ECG with atrial-fibrillation detection
- More than 40 exercise modes
- Trend tracking for blood pressure and insulin resistance
Treat the last item carefully. “Trend tracking” is not diagnosis, treatment or a medical-grade measurement, and the reporting says nothing about clinical validation or regulatory clearance. The same applies to the ECG claims until Google publishes details for each market.
Smart features
Leak coverage from October 4 describes notifications, Google Maps, media and music controls, and Find My Phone. Android Authority also reports Gemini-backed coaching and some Google Play integration. None of this is confirmed, and how much works on iPhone is unknown.
Where the Edge would fit
The coverage places the Edge between the screen-free Fitbit Air and the Pixel Watch 5: a tracker with a display and some phone-connected features, but not a full smartwatch. That positioning is the reporters’ reading of the leak, not a Google category statement. One report also speculates that it could share a magnetic charger with the Fitbit Air. That is a guess, so don’t buy chargers or accessories on that assumption.

Comparing it with a Fitbit you can buy now
Google Store lists the Fitbit Charge 6 at $159.95. Its official page lists built-in GPS, heart-rate tracking, 40+ exercise modes and an ECG app. On paper, the leaked Edge overlaps heavily with that feature set, so the reported differences are the screen, the metal case, the Bluetooth version and the possible replaceable battery. Charge 6 bands and chargers are not known to fit the Edge.
When the Edge is official, compare it on these points:
- Price in your own region
- Battery life with the always-on display actually enabled
- Built-in GPS versus relying on your phone
- Phone compatibility and which features work on iOS
- Whether any subscription is needed for coaching or health insights
- Availability and supported markets for ECG and other health features
What is still unknown
- Whether Google will use the name Edge at all
- Launch date: the leak reports say timing is unknown
- Official US price
- Final specifications and official phone requirements
- How the battery would be replaced, and accessory compatibility
If you need a tracker today, the Charge 6 is available. If you can wait, hold off on any purchase decision until Google publishes an official page.
