Samsung’s 2026 Galaxy A family spans four US models, from the $199.99 A17 to the $549.99 A57, so the right comparison depends on your budget and priorities. Choose the Pixel 10a if you want a smaller screen, Qi wireless charging, or Google’s stated seven-year update period. Consider a Galaxy A17 or A27 for a lower listed starting price and microSD expansion, or an A37/A57 if you want a 120Hz screen and faster wired charging. Prices below are US listings and can change; the comparison uses manufacturer specifications, not hands-on test results.
Which Samsung Galaxy A model should you compare with the Pixel 10a?
Samsung’s Galaxy A-series is a range, not one direct rival. The US lineup page lists four 2026 models with starting prices before eligible trade-in:

Google’s US Pixel 10a page listed the phone at $599 with 8GB RAM and 128GB or 256GB storage when accessed. These are live, market-specific prices, not guaranteed prices or universal MSRP. Compare the same storage capacity and check current promotions before deciding.

Pixel 10a versus A57 or A37
These are the closest Samsung comparisons by listed price: the A57 starts $49.01 below the listed Pixel price, while the A37 starts $149.01 below it. The Pixel has a smaller 6.3-inch display and wireless charging; both Samsung models have 6.7-inch 120Hz displays, no wireless charging, and wired charging up to 45W. Choose between those differences rather than assuming the higher-priced phone is automatically better.

Pixel 10a versus A27 or A17
The A27 and A17 are much cheaper at Samsung’s listed US starting prices. They also offer microSD expansion, which the A37 and A57 do not. The Pixel costs more, but its listed features include Qi wireless charging and seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates. If price or removable storage matters most, compare the A17/A27; if the Pixel’s smaller size or charging and update features matter, compare the Pixel 10a.
Screen size, refresh rate, and handling
The Pixel 10a has a 6.3-inch 1080 × 2424 pOLED screen with a listed 60–120Hz refresh rate. Samsung lists 6.7-inch screens on all four 2026 A models: the A17 is FHD+ Super AMOLED at 90Hz; the A27 and A37 are FHD+ Super AMOLED at 120Hz; and the A57 is FHD+ Super AMOLED Plus at 120Hz.

A smaller screen may suit someone who prefers a more compact viewing area, while a 6.7-inch display gives more room for video, reading, and large text. Screen diagonal alone does not establish how easy a phone is to hold or use one-handed; physical dimensions and your own handling preference matter.

Pixel 10a configurations listed by Google have 128GB or 256GB of internal storage; the cited specification list does not show a card slot. Samsung says the A17 and A27 accept microSD cards up to 2TB, while the A37 and A57 do not. Samsung’s listed configurations are 128GB for the A17 and A27, and 128GB or 256GB for the A37 and A57.

If you keep a large photo, video, or music library on removable storage, the A17 or A27 offers an expansion option absent from the Pixel and the two higher Samsung models. If you prefer built-in capacity, compare the actual storage SKU and price before buying; a model name alone does not tell you which configuration is on sale.
Charging and battery: different conveniences, no proven endurance winner
Google lists a typical 5,100mAh battery for the Pixel 10a and Qi-certified wireless charging. Google says its stated fast-charge result—up to 50% in about 30 minutes—uses a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher, sold separately. The box includes a USB-C cable and SIM tool, but Google does not list a charging adapter.

Samsung lists a 5,000mAh battery for each of the A17, A27, A37, and A57. Its US support comparison says none of these models supports wireless charging or PowerShare. Wired charging is listed at up to 25W for the A17 and A27, and up to 45W for the A37 and A57.

Account for the separate charger cost if you need Google’s specified Pixel fast-charging setup, and confirm PPS support rather than assuming any USB-C charger will deliver that result.

Software support and water resistance
Google lists seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates for the Pixel 10a, which launched with Android 16. Samsung’s March 25, 2026 announcement says the A57 and A37 receive up to six generations of Android OS and One UI upgrades and up to six years of security updates. Samsung qualifies availability and timing by model and market, so check the policy for the exact regional version you plan to buy. These commitments are stated differently and should not be treated as a direct promise of identical update schedules.
Google lists IP68 dust and water resistance for the Pixel 10a. Samsung’s global launch announcement also describes IP68 protection for the A57 and A37. These are manufacturer ratings; they are not a reason to deliberately expose a phone to water, and the cited Samsung announcement does not establish the same rating for the A17 or A27.
Camera systems: compare the lenses, not just the megapixels
Google lists a 48MP wide and 13MP ultrawide rear camera system on the Pixel 10a, plus a 13MP front camera. Samsung lists a 50MP main and 5MP macro camera on both the A57 and A37; the A57 adds a 12MP ultrawide, while the A37 has an 8MP ultrawide. The cited details do not establish the corresponding camera configuration for the A17 and A27.
These specifications describe hardware, not photo quality. Megapixel counts and lens labels cannot tell you how well a phone handles low light, moving subjects, portraits, or video. No side-by-side camera test is established here, so choose based on the camera types and software features you value, and seek comparable sample photos if image quality is the deciding factor.
Which one should you buy?
- Choose the Pixel 10a if you want the smaller listed screen, Qi wireless charging, or Google’s seven-year OS, security, and Pixel Drop update commitment.
- Look at the Galaxy A17 or A27 if keeping the upfront price low or adding microSD storage is more important than wireless charging or the Pixel’s listed update period.
- Compare the Galaxy A37 or A57 if you want Samsung’s 6.7-inch 120Hz screen, up to 45W wired charging, or Samsung’s stated support commitment for those models.
- Do not decide on camera or battery claims alone: the listed specifications do not provide an independent comparative test of image quality or real-world endurance.
Before purchase, verify the current local price, exact storage configuration, stock, carrier compatibility, and support terms. Google lists multiple Pixel 10a network models for different bands, and Samsung says availability and update timing can vary by market.
