For a current-generation comparison, this article treats “Google Pixel Pro XL” as the Google Pixel 10 Pro XL and “Samsung Galaxy S Ultra” as the Samsung Galaxy S26 Ultra. The Pixel is the better fit if you want Google’s Pixel software features, Qi2-certified magnetic charging, and a 5x telephoto camera. Choose the Galaxy if you value its built-in S Pen, separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, or slightly larger headline display measurement. Manufacturer specifications alone can’t determine which takes better photos or lasts longer on a charge.
What separates the Pixel 10 Pro XL and Galaxy S26 Ultra?
Both are large-screen flagship phones with adaptive 1–120Hz displays, multi-camera systems, and long software-support commitments. Their clearest practical differences are the S26 Ultra’s integrated S Pen and separate 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, versus the Pixel’s Qi2-certified Pixelsnap charging and Google’s stated seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates.

The title doesn’t specify a generation, so this comparison uses the Pixel 10 Pro XL and Galaxy S26 Ultra, the latest matching models identified in the manufacturers’ product material. Specifications and policies can vary by region; the Samsung product specifications cited here are for the UK model. Google Pixel specifications and Samsung’s Galaxy S26 announcement provide the main comparison details.

Samsung lists a 6.9-inch display measured across the full rectangle, compared with Google’s 6.8-inch Pixel display. The difference is small, and Samsung notes that the S26 Ultra measures 6.7 inches when rounded corners are taken into account; actual viewable area is smaller than the full-rectangle measurement.

Which phone’s camera setup suits you?
The phones differ in their rear-camera hardware and in how their manufacturers describe zoom. The Galaxy has separate telephoto cameras at 3x and 5x; the Pixel lists one 5x telephoto camera. Those distinctions can help you choose focal-length flexibility, but megapixel counts and zoom labels do not prove which phone produces better images.

If you often switch between 3x and 5x framing, Samsung’s separately listed telephoto cameras make that hardware distinction explicit. If a single listed 5x telephoto camera fits your needs, the Pixel remains a candidate. Neither specification sheet settles photo or video quality, so don’t treat the listed megapixels or maximum zoom as a camera-test result.

Samsung’s cited Galaxy S26 Ultra specifications list S Pen support. That makes the Galaxy the clear option between these two if you want a built-in stylus for handwriting or other pen-based workflows. The cited Pixel specifications don’t identify an integrated stylus.

Choose Pixel for Qi2-certified Pixelsnap
Google lists Qi2-certified Pixelsnap charging up to 25W for the Pixel 10 Pro XL. Its specifications also say the phone can charge up to 70% in about 30 minutes when using a 45W USB-C PPS charger or higher; the charger is sold separately. The Samsung launch material cited here doesn’t provide matching charging-rate detail, so it isn’t enough to compare charging speeds directly.

Google lists a typical battery capacity of 5,200mAh for the Pixel 10 Pro XL; Samsung lists 5,000mAh typical capacity for the Galaxy S26 Ultra. These are manufacturer-stated capacities, not battery-runtime test results. They don’t establish which phone will last longer in your daily use.

Both makers describe extended support, but the commitments use different terms and start dates:

| Support commitment | Pixel 10 Pro XL | Galaxy S26 Ultra |
|---|---|---|
| What’s included | Seven years of OS, security, and Pixel Drop updates | Seven generations of OS upgrades and seven years of security updates |
| Support period starts | From first availability in the US Google Store, under Google’s Pixel update policy | From global launch, according to Samsung’s announcement |
The wording matters: Google expressly includes Pixel Drop updates, while Samsung specifies OS-upgrade generations and security updates. Compare the commitments as stated rather than assuming the categories or start dates are identical.
Which phone should you choose?
- Pick the Pixel 10 Pro XL if you prefer Google’s Pixel ecosystem and software features, want Qi2-certified Pixelsnap charging, and are comfortable with a single listed 5x telephoto camera.
- Pick the Galaxy S26 Ultra if you’ll use an integrated S Pen, want separately listed 3x and 5x telephoto cameras, or prefer its slightly larger headline display measurement.
- Compare local offers before deciding on price. Storage options, discounts, trade-ins, carrier financing, and availability depend on location and can change; the available manufacturer material doesn’t establish a universal price winner.
If your deciding factor is photo or video quality, battery runtime, gaming speed, heat, network reception, durability, or repairability, these specifications don’t provide a head-to-head answer. Look for independent tests of the exact models and, where relevant, the regional variants you can buy.
