Google’s screenless Fitbit Air fitness tracker went on sale in India on 2 October 2026 for ₹13,999. It tracks health, sleep and activity metrics, with results and insights shown in the Google Health app rather than on a display. The India launch also includes a three-month Google Health Premium trial.
What is Fitbit Air?
Fitbit Air is a small, screenless wrist-worn fitness tracker from Google. It is not a smartwatch with a display: the band has no screen, and users view its tracking data and insights in the Google Health app. Google describes the device and its features in its India launch announcement.

Google says Fitbit Air tracks heart rate around the clock, heart rhythm and Afib alerts, blood oxygen (SpO2), resting heart rate, heart rate variability, sleep stages and sleep duration. It also automatically detects common activities. The Google Health app is where the corresponding insights appear; tracking a metric does not mean the band has a display or that it provides a medical diagnosis.

Does Fitbit Air require a subscription?
Google says some coaching and guided workout features require Google Health Premium and an internet connection. The India launch includes a three-month Premium trial, but Google’s announcement does not establish the subscription price after the trial. Feature eligibility and availability may vary or change, according to Google.
How long does the battery last?
Google advertises up to a week of battery life and says five minutes of fast charging can provide a full day of power. The week-long maximum is an approximate manufacturer estimate based on Google’s 2025 testing with pre-production hardware and software, default settings and a median user profile—not an independent measurement. Google says actual battery life varies with features, usage, environment and other factors. See the global Fitbit Air announcement for the company’s battery qualification.

Which phones work with Fitbit Air?
Google says the tracker works with most phones running Android 11 or later, or Apple iOS 16.4 or later. Setup and use require a Google Account and the Google Health app. Google cautions that feature eligibility and availability may change or vary.
Health and accuracy limits
Google says heart-rate tracking is not intended for medical purposes, and accuracy can be affected by physiology, device position, movement and activity. Its sleep tracking is not intended to diagnose or treat a medical condition and should not be relied on for medical purposes. Afib alerts are not intended for people under 22 with known Afib or other known arrhythmias, and are not available in all countries. Fitbit Air should not replace clinical advice or care.

Google’s India announcement describes the launch and product claims, but no independent sensor validation, measured battery test or hands-on performance results are established here. Those claims should therefore be understood as Google’s, rather than as independently verified results.
