Good Lock is a suite of separate customization apps, not one feature built into One UI. Samsung says modules are updated separately from the main system, so a temporary compatibility gap can appear after a major One UI release. There is no universal date by which every module is guaranteed to be updated.

Why a One UI update can break Good Lock
Good Lock provides Samsung Galaxy customization tools through a main app and multiple modules. Each module can have its own release cycle and compatibility requirements. When One UI or Android changes system behavior, a module may be installed but fail to apply its feature, crash, disappear from Good Lock, or refuse to install.

Availability also depends on the Galaxy model, software version, country or region, and the individual module. Samsung’s Good Lock listings warn that some devices may not be supported. A missing module is therefore not automatically evidence of a damaged installation.
Identify exactly what failed before changing settings
Write down the details below. They determine whether you are dealing with a pending module release, an installation problem, or a feature-specific bug.
- Galaxy model: include the exact model name or model number.
- One UI and Android versions: open Settings > About phone > Software information and record both versions.
- Good Lock version: check the app’s information in Galaxy Store or in Settings > Apps > Good Lock.
- Affected module and version: note whether the problem involves LockStar, a different module, or several modules.
- Failure type: distinguish between a module missing from the catalog, an installation that fails, an app that crashes, and a setting that saves but has no visible effect.
- When it started: record whether the problem began immediately after the One UI update or after a later module update.
This record also gives Samsung Support or Samsung Members the information needed to assess compatibility instead of treating the problem as a generic app crash.

| Action | What it addresses | Risk and scope |
|---|---|---|
| Update Good Lock and the affected module | Pending compatibility fixes and outdated app code | Lowest risk; changes only app versions |
| Restart the device | Services that did not reload after an update | Very low risk; no user data is removed |
| Clear the affected module’s cache | Temporary or corrupted cached files | Low risk; target only the affected module |
| Reinstall the affected module | Incomplete installation or damaged app files | Broader than cache clearing; module settings and retention behavior can vary |
| Check compatibility and contact Samsung | Unsupported devices, regional availability, or an unreleased fix | Does not alter the phone; produces a support case when local fixes are exhausted |
Step 1: Update Good Lock and the module
Check from Good Lock
- Open Good Lock.
- Look for an update indicator on the Good Lock app or on the module that is failing.
- Install every available update for the main Good Lock app and the affected module.
- Open the module once after installation and test the exact feature that failed.
Check Galaxy Store directly
- Open Galaxy Store.
- Open the menu or your account area and choose the section for app updates. Samsung’s labels can differ by device and country.
- Update Good Lock and the affected module individually if both appear in the list.
- If the module page shows no update, search for its current listing and check whether it is available for your model and region.
Samsung’s One UI 7 troubleshooting guidance specifically recommends checking Galaxy Store or Google Play for app updates when apps malfunction after an operating-system upgrade. Good Lock modules are distributed through Samsung’s Galaxy ecosystem, so checking the module itself is important; updating only the phone’s firmware does not update every module automatically.
The Galaxy Store listing checked on July 14, 2026 displayed Good Lock version 3.0.16.6, but listing versions change as releases roll out. Treat the version shown on your device as authoritative rather than using that historical listing number as a target.
Step 2: Restart after the updates
After Good Lock and its module finish updating, restart the Galaxy device from the power menu. Samsung Community manager instructions explicitly place a restart after module updates. This reloads system services and the module’s connection to One UI, which may not be reinitialized by an in-place app update.
Test the feature again before making another change. If only one module is failing, do not reset unrelated Good Lock modules.

Pick the symptom - the matching free tool is one click away.
Step 3: Clear only the affected module’s cache
- Open Settings.
- Tap Apps.
- Select the affected Good Lock module, not the entire One UI Home app.
- Tap Storage.
- Tap Clear cache.
- Return to the module and test the failing feature.
Menu names and their locations can vary by Galaxy model, One UI release, and country. If your Settings app uses a search field, search for the module name, open its app-information page, and then choose Storage.

Samsung’s general cache guidance treats clearing cached files as an app-troubleshooting measure. Cache clearing is narrower than clearing app data: it is intended to remove temporary files without deliberately resetting the entire module. Samsung’s guidance does not establish identical data-retention behavior for every Good Lock module, so do not assume that a module’s preferences or layouts are preserved in every circumstance.
Step 4: Reinstall the module if cache clearing fails
- Open Galaxy Store and find the affected module.
- Use the available uninstall or remove option for that module.
- Restart the device if Galaxy Store requests it or if the module remains listed as installed.
- Install the module again from Galaxy Store.
- Open Good Lock, re-enable the feature, and test it.
Reinstallation is the next step in Samsung Community manager guidance when updating, restarting, and clearing cache do not resolve the problem. It replaces the module’s installed files, which can correct an incomplete download or a package left in an inconsistent state.
Do not treat reinstalling as proof that all module settings will be retained. Samsung’s guidance does not define a universal retention policy for every module. Before removing a heavily customized module, note important settings or take screenshots so you can recreate them if necessary.

Check the documented One UI 8 Adaptive Clock problem
Samsung has documented a specific Android 16 and One UI 8 issue involving the Adaptive Clock, also called Stretch Clock, and LockStar. The affected LockStar release is 7.0.00.14; Samsung identifies LockStar 7.0.1.10 as containing the fix.
If your symptom is specifically that Adaptive Clock or Stretch Clock does not work with LockStar after moving to One UI 8, open Galaxy Store and check the installed LockStar version. Samsung’s wording is: “To resolve this, update the Lock Star app to version 7.0.1.10, which includes fixes for this problem.” Rollout timing and the version offered to your device can change, so use the version and update availability shown on your own Galaxy device.
This is a documented LockStar case, not a general version recommendation for every Good Lock module. Do not install an unrelated module version on the assumption that the same fix applies elsewhere.
Match the remedy to the symptom
The module is missing from Good Lock
- Confirm that the module is available for your exact Galaxy model and One UI version.
- Check Galaxy Store directly rather than relying only on the Good Lock catalog.
- Verify your country or region, because availability can differ by market.
- If the module is unsupported, an update or reinstall cannot make it compatible.
The module will not install or update
- Check whether Galaxy Store offers an update for Good Lock itself.
- Restart the device and try the installation again.
- Confirm that the module listing supports your device and software version.
- Record the exact error message and report it to Samsung if the listing remains available but installation consistently fails.
The module opens but its feature has no effect
- Update the module, restart, and test again.
- Clear only that module’s cache.
- Check whether the failed feature is part of a documented One UI-specific issue, such as LockStar’s Adaptive Clock behavior on One UI 8.
- Reinstall the module if the setting still does not apply.
The module crashes immediately
- Install all available Good Lock and module updates.
- Restart the device.
- Clear the module cache.
- Reinstall the module if the crash continues.
- When contacting Samsung, include the crash timing, module version, One UI version, and Galaxy model.
Use a simple decision path before escalating
If the module is visible and an update is offered, install it, restart, and test before touching storage settings. If no update is offered, compare the module listing with your model, region, and One UI version; the absence of an update may mean the compatible build has not reached your device yet. If the listing says the module is supported but installation fails, capture the error and try the restart-and-install sequence once more. If installation succeeds but the feature remains ineffective, clear that module’s cache and then reinstall it. This order limits the scope of each change and leaves a clear record for support.
When several modules fail at the same time immediately after a major One UI release, suspect a system-wide compatibility gap before assuming every module has separate corrupted files. When only one module fails while others work, focus on that module’s listing, version, and feature-specific notes.

Understand version and regional availability
Good Lock’s catalog is not identical on every Galaxy device. Samsung describes feature availability as dependent on device and software version, and its listings note that some devices are unsupported. Country or region can also affect which module page appears and when an update becomes downloadable.
Therefore, do not use another person’s version number as proof that your phone is behind. The LockStar 7.0.1.10 fix is relevant to the documented Adaptive Clock issue, but it is not a universal target for all Good Lock components. Likewise, the Good Lock 3.0.16.6 listing observed in July 2026 is a historical reference, not a required version today. Check the version displayed in Galaxy Store on your own device.
Samsung’s general One UI guidance warns that apps built for older Android versions may not work correctly on newer devices. A module can consequently remain listed yet need its own compatibility release. Checking periodically is reasonable, but Samsung has not published one timetable covering every module.
Verify compatibility before blaming the installation
Samsung describes Good Lock as a suite whose features and availability vary by device and software version. A major One UI update can therefore change the compatibility boundary even when the module itself has not changed. A module that worked on an earlier One UI release may need a separate update before it works correctly on the new one.
Check the module’s Galaxy Store listing, release notes, and supported-device information. A listing that is visible on one Galaxy phone may not appear on another, and regional catalog differences can affect both installation and update timing.
Samsung’s One UI guidance also cautions that apps written for older Android versions may not work correctly on newer devices. That warning applies broadly to apps after an operating-system upgrade; it is another reason to distinguish a pending compatibility update from a local cache problem.
Do not clear One UI Home data as a routine Good Lock fix
One UI Home is the Samsung launcher, not the same thing as an individual Good Lock module. Samsung warns that clearing One UI Home data resets the Home screen layout, settings, and apps to their defaults. That is a much broader change than clearing a module’s cache.
Unless Samsung Support gives you a model-specific reason, do not use Settings > Apps > One UI Home > Storage > Clear data as an ordinary first response to a Good Lock problem. The documented Good Lock sequence targets the affected module and escalates from updates to restart, cache clearing, and reinstallation.

How long should you wait for a module update?
There is no universal Good Lock module release timetable established by Samsung’s guidance. Samsung Community manager advice says modules are updated separately and temporary compatibility issues may occur until those updates are released; it does not promise that every module will be repaired by a particular date.
Check Galaxy Store periodically and watch the module’s own listing rather than assuming that a new One UI build means every module update is already available. If the module remains unavailable or broken after a compatible release appears, proceed with the local troubleshooting steps and report the case.
When to contact Samsung
Contact Samsung Support or submit a report through Samsung Members when the affected module is listed as compatible, fully updated, reinstalled, and still fails. Include:

- Galaxy model and country or region.
- One UI and Android versions.
- Good Lock and affected-module versions.
- The exact feature that fails.
- Whether the module is missing, cannot install, crashes, or ignores a setting.
- The steps already completed, including cache clearing and reinstallation.
- Screenshots or the exact error text, if available.
This information helps Samsung separate a device-specific fault from a module-wide compatibility issue and gives its engineers a reproducible software configuration.
What the evidence does—and does not—establish
Samsung has confirmed a concrete LockStar fix for the Adaptive Clock problem on Android 16 and One UI 8, and Samsung Community guidance provides a practical sequence for updating, restarting, clearing cache, and reinstalling. Those facts support the troubleshooting order in this guide.
They do not establish that every Good Lock module has the same defect, that every module will receive an update on the same day, or that a particular cache or reinstall operation preserves every module’s settings. Treat each module and device combination separately, and use the compatibility information shown for your Galaxy phone or tablet.
Frequently Asked Questions
Should I update One UI again to fix a Good Lock module?
No. First update Good Lock and the individual module through Galaxy Store. Modules have separate release cycles, so a system update alone may not include the needed compatibility fix.
Why is a Good Lock module missing after my update?
Availability varies by Galaxy model, One UI version, country, and module. Check the module directly in Galaxy Store and review its supported-device information before assuming the installation is damaged.
Best Value
Will clearing cache erase my Good Lock settings?
Cache clearing is narrower than clearing app data, but Samsung does not define identical retention behavior for every module. Reinstalling can also affect settings, so record important customizations first.
Can I clear One UI Home data instead?
Avoid doing that as a routine Good Lock fix. Samsung says clearing One UI Home data resets the launcher layout, settings, and apps to defaults. Target only the affected module unless Samsung Support gives different instructions.
What LockStar version fixes Adaptive Clock on One UI 8?
Samsung identifies LockStar 7.0.1.10 as the fix for the Adaptive Clock, or Stretch Clock, issue affecting version 7.0.00.14 on Android 16 and One UI 8.

There is no universal release timetable. Check Galaxy Store periodically, especially after a major One UI update, and rely on the version offered for your own device and region.
Should I reinstall every Good Lock module?
No. Reinstall only the affected module after updating, restarting, and clearing its cache. Resetting unrelated modules expands the risk without addressing the reported symptom.
What should I send Samsung if the problem continues?
Provide the Galaxy model, region, One UI and Android versions, Good Lock and module versions, exact failing feature, error text or screenshots, and the troubleshooting steps you already completed.
The Bottom Line
Update Good Lock and the affected module, restart, clear only that module’s cache, and reinstall it if necessary. Then verify model, region, and One UI compatibility. For the documented One UI 8 Adaptive Clock problem, Samsung specifies LockStar 7.0.1.10. If a compatible, updated module still fails, report the complete configuration through Samsung Support or Samsung Members.
