Goldair markets the GCPAC110 as a Smart Wi-Fi 2.63kW portable air conditioner. Its stated capacity is a manufacturer specification, not a published independent measurement. CHOICE lists the capacity as 2.6kW, a rounded figure.

CHOICE has a model-specific page, but its public information does not show the expert rating, cooling score, energy-efficiency score, high-fan noise result, noise description, running costs or recommended-product result. Those details are member-only, so they cannot support a public claim that this model is quiet, efficient, highly rated or recommended.
Appliances Online showed a 5.0-star snapshot from one customer review when accessed. One review is not a reliable basis for general conclusions about performance or durability. That buyer described setup as awkward and reported insulating the exhaust hose and using continuous drainage; these are that individual’s experiences, not controlled test results.

Is the Goldair GCPAC110 worth buying?
It may suit someone who wants a portable, cooling-only unit with app and voice control and has confirmed a genuine GCPAC110 is available. The evidence available publicly is not enough to establish how well it cools in a particular room, how much it costs to run or how noisy it is. Do not infer those qualities from its capacity specification or smart features.
Availability makes the decision less straightforward. Goldair’s product page showed the unit sold out, and CHOICE describes it as discontinued. The pages listed AUD $549 at Goldair and $550 at CHOICE when accessed in 2026; these are page-listed prices, not a current offer or confirmation of stock. If you find a listing, verify that it is this exact model, that the seller has it in stock, and that local warranty support applies.

How do you set up the Goldair GCPAC110?
Follow the GCPAC110 operating instructions for installation. The manufacturer’s manual gives a minimum room floor area and clearance requirement and specifies the exhaust arrangement:
- Choose a flat, hard location in a room larger than 9m². Leave at least 300mm of clearance around the unit, including above it. The manual says not to install it in a bathroom or another humid environment.
- Connect the exhaust hose to the supplied window kit and route it to the window. Avoid bends in the hose, and seal the gap between the window adapter and the sides of the window. The manual says sealing that gap is recommended for maximum efficiency.
- Check that doors and windows are closed while cooling and keep the air inlet and outlet clear. These are also among the manual’s troubleshooting suggestions for poor cooling.
- If the unit has been transported or laid on its side, allow the refrigerant to settle for 24 hours before use, as directed by the manual.
CHOICE lists a 150cm duct. Check that this length and the supplied kit can reach and fit your window without forcing a kink or leaving a large unsealed opening.

Which operating modes and settings are documented?
The manual describes cooling, fan and dehumidifying modes. In cooling mode, the set temperature range is 16°C to 32°C. The fan can be set to high or low, and the louvres are adjusted manually. In dry (dehumidifying) mode, the fan runs at low speed; the manual directs users to connect the lower drain hose.

What should you verify before comparing it with another portable air conditioner?
- Cooling and room fit: Compare manufacturers’ capacity specifications and room guidance, but do not treat the GCPAC110’s 2.63kW claim as a measured result. The public information cited here does not establish a recommended room size for this model.
- Noise and energy use: These are important for bedrooms and running costs, but the relevant CHOICE results are not publicly visible. A meaningful ranking requires comparable test data.
- Installation: Check window compatibility, exhaust reach, sealing, drainage, clearance and access to power. The manual requires 300mm clearance; CHOICE lists a 150cm duct.
- Features and support: Compare cooling-only operation with any heating requirement, then check smart controls, warranty, stock and service support for the exact model.
- Dimensions and weight: Published figures conflict. Goldair lists dimensions of 698 × 335 × 325mm and a weight of 27kg; CHOICE lists 80 × 45 × 45cm and 27.7kg; Appliances Online lists 698 × 335 × 325mm and 23.45kg. Confirm the rating label or seller documentation before relying on these values for a fit or mobility decision.
What to check if cooling seems weak or the unit is loud
The manual associates poor cooling with direct sunlight, open doors or windows, other heat sources, a dirty filter, or a blocked inlet or outlet. Its suggested checks are to reduce those heat loads, close doors and windows, clean the filter and clear obstructions. These are manufacturer troubleshooting instructions, not evidence that this model is unusually weak.
For loud operation, the manual points to an uneven surface and recommends placing the unit on a flat, hard one. It does not establish a measured noise level; CHOICE’s high-speed noise result is not public.
