Gold Coins are virtual tokens for entertainment-style games on some sweepstakes casino platforms; in the operator rules reviewed here, they cannot be redeemed for prizes. They are distinct from promotional Sweeps Coins, which may be used for prize-eligible play under separate conditions. Coin names and rules vary by operator, so check the current terms for the platform and location where you play.
Gold Coins vs. Sweeps Coins
The two balances may appear on the same platform, but they serve different purposes. Gold Coins support social or entertainment play. Sweeps Coins are promotional currency or entries that may qualify for prize-eligible play when the operator’s rules allow it.

| Currency | Purpose in the reviewed rules | Can it be redeemed? |
|---|---|---|
| Gold Coins | Entertainment or social gameplay | No. LuckyLand says Gold Coins cannot be redeemed for prizes; Lucky Buddha says they have no monetary value and cannot be redeemed. These are operator-specific rules. |
| Sweeps Coins | Promotional play or entries, subject to operator rules | Potentially, if the participant meets the applicable conditions. They are not a guarantee of a prize or cash value. |
For example, LuckyLand’s version 4.1 rules, dated April 24, 2026, describe Sweeps Coins as usable in promotional play for a chance to win additional Sweeps Coins that may be redeemable for prizes. Lucky Buddha’s rules page describes them as promotional entries. Neither description means a win or redemption is assured.

Not in the examples covered by these rules. Both operators describe ways to obtain promotional Sweeps Coins without buying a Gold Coin bundle, although the procedures and availability are specific to each operator and may change.

LuckyLand
LuckyLand’s version 4.1 rules list no-cost contests, a daily bonus when offered, and an online entry request, as well as bonus Sweeps Coins included with certain Gold Coin bundles. The rules state: “NO PURCHASE OR PAYMENT NECESSARY TO PARTICIPATE. A PURCHASE OR PAYMENT OF ANY KIND WILL NOT INCREASE AN ELIGIBLE PARTICIPANT’S CHANCES OF WINNING.” Read the official rules for the current entry instructions and eligibility.
Lucky Buddha
Lucky Buddha’s rules page lists promotional giveaways, bonus Sweeps Coins with Gold Coin bundles, and a no-purchase alternate entry method. The page’s version and date are inconsistent in the available record: the opened page showed version 1.4.0 dated September 15, 2026, while search-result metadata showed version 1.5.0 and September 25. Check the current rules page rather than relying on a saved copy or assuming the entry method is unchanged.

What to check before playing or seeking a prize
Rules differ by operator and can change. Before creating an account, entering a promotion, or requesting a redemption, verify these points in the platform’s current official rules:
- Location: Confirm that participation is permitted in your state or territory and that you meet any physical-location restrictions.
- Age and eligibility: Check the minimum age and any other account or participant requirements. The reviewed operators do not use identical eligibility rules.
- Free entry: Find the precise no-purchase entry method, its deadlines, and any formatting or submission requirements. A method listed by one operator may not apply to another.
- Expiration: Check when Sweeps Coins expire and what activity resets or triggers the clock. LuckyLand states a 60-day validity period based on last account login. Lucky Buddha’s opened rules page says its 60-day period runs from the last activity involving Sweeps Coin play unless a promotion says otherwise. These are not the same trigger.
- Verification: Review identity-verification requirements and when documents may be requested.
- Play-through: Check whether Sweeps Coins must be played through before a redemption request. Lucky Buddha’s page describes a 1× play-through requirement for eligible redemptions.
- Minimum redemption: Confirm the current threshold and any other redemption conditions. LuckyLand’s version 4.1 rules state a $50 minimum prize-redemption threshold; this is a rule for that operator and version, not an industry standard.
Are sweepstakes casinos legal everywhere?
No blanket conclusion follows from these examples. LuckyLand’s rules limit promotional play to listed permitted territories, make participation subject to applicable law, and place responsibility on participants to determine local compliance. The Arizona Department of Gaming’s sweepstakes guidance search-result summary notes the relevance of free participation and clear rules disclosures, but that limited summary does not establish the legality of every platform or model in every state.

- Also includes two decks of playing cards

Check both the operator’s current location restrictions and the law that applies where you are physically located. A platform’s availability or rules in one state do not establish that it is available or lawful elsewhere.
