For Eir in God of War (2018), level 5 is a challenging benchmark and level 6 is the easier one, according to Game8. Those are guide recommendations, not required level gates or guarantees: your game difficulty, equipment, and ability to interrupt her attacks also affect how punishing the fight feels.
What level should you be to fight Eir?

Game8’s labels are practical advice, not an official requirement. Santa Monica Studio combat designer Denny Yeh explained that the Valkyrie fights were designed to be beatable by a level 1 Kratos without taking damage. That describes the encounters’ design and the importance of learning their responses; it is not a recommendation that most players should attempt Eir at level 1.

Why level is only part of the answer
Your level is a useful readiness signal, but it cannot tell you whether the fight will feel manageable on its own. The selected difficulty, your equipment, and how reliably you recognize and interrupt Eir’s attacks all matter. If level 5 feels too punishing, improve your gear or leave and return later rather than treating the guide’s benchmark as a deadline.
Which Eir attacks should you answer proactively?
Interrupt the airborne mace quake
Watch for Eir to rise into the air and begin the mace attack. Throw a projectile to interrupt the quake before it completes; Santa Monica Studio describes interrupting this move as the required response. The fight rewards acting on the animation instead of waiting to react after the attack lands.

Break the cocoon guard
When Eir closes into her defensive cocoon, break her guard rather than continuing to attack into it. Recognizing that she is defending helps you avoid wasting attacks and return to pressure when the opening appears.
How to use your opening
Game8 suggests using a light Runic attack followed by a heavy Runic attack when Eir opens her wings. Treat this as one walkthrough’s suggested start, not a mandatory combo: adapt it to the Runic attacks you have equipped and their cooldowns. The more important principle is to use the opening without losing track of the moves that need an immediate interruption.

Where to find Eir
Game8 places Eir’s Hidden Chamber deep inside the Mountain. If the encounter is not going well at the level 5 benchmark, you can use the detour to improve your equipment or come back later; no particular build is required by the cited recommendation.
