This walkthrough covers Helheim in God of War (2018), not God of War Ragnarök. The region has five artifacts, one Mystic Gateway, six Odin’s Ravens, one Valkyrie, and three Legendary Chests, according to Santa Monica Studio’s 2022 collectible summary. Some items are inaccessible on the first story visit: plan to return with Atreus and his Shock Arrows to clear red sap.

The same studio summary says 43 of the game’s 45 ravens are enough for the Allfather Blinded and Father and Son achievements; collecting all 45 is required for in-game 100% completion. Those totals apply to the whole game, not Helheim alone.

A PowerPyx page includes a reader comment mentioning a Nornir Chest on a later ship sequence, but the official regional list does not include one and the cited walkthrough details do not verify the reported location or puzzle. Treat that chest as unconfirmed rather than adding it to Helheim’s checklist.

First visit: follow the story route
Begin at the Realm Travel Room and Brok’s shop. The chronological route in PowerPyx’s Helheim collectible guide puts an artifact outside the shop area, then a Legendary Chest along the main route with an Odin’s Raven perched above it on a golden ring. Continue across the bridge where the dead cross and toward the ice tunnel.
Find the right Winds of Hel energy
Near the gate by the ice tunnel, note the green energy and the holders along the route. Do not confuse this with energy farther into Helheim near the story boss encounter. The Winds of Hel puzzle for the chest is a backtrack, not a forward-only sequence: after completing the area, retrieve the energy near the far bridge gate and carry it through the holders toward the entrance.

Transfer the energy back to the entrance
- Use the holder at the side door on the left, then continue to the holder beside the bridge.
- Move the energy through the holders around the statue area and the holder on the back of the golden ring structure.
- Find the holder obscured by an ice wall. Circle around to the start-side of the route to retrieve the energy from the opposite side of the obstruction.
- Carry it to the final holder by the stairs, then place it in the door to claim the Legendary Chest reward, a runic attack.

Past the bridge and ice tunnel, follow the route to the lower area. PowerPyx’s pickup sequence identifies a red-sap barrier that Atreus can clear with electric arrows, a Legendary Chest behind sap, an artifact trapped in vines that must be burned with the Blades of Chaos, and two ravens around the lower area and ice ledge. If a barrier still blocks a pickup, mark it and return with Atreus rather than spending time trying to force it open on the first visit.

Return with Atreus for blocked branches
Come back through the Realm Travel Room with Atreus. His Shock Arrows can clear Shatter Crystals and red sap blocking several bridge branches. Prima’s chapter walkthrough describes three branches opened this way:
- Chest and coffin: clear the first red-sap branch to reach a chest and coffin.
- Legendary Chest below the bridge: turn left, lower the chain, and descend to the next branch, which leads below the main bridge to a Legendary Chest.
- Hidden Chamber: clear the third branch to open the entrance to the Hidden Chamber of Odin.
This entrance is reached through red sap; it is not one of the other Odin’s Chambers that requires breaking a seal.

Hidden Chamber: Gateway, artifacts, raven, and Rota
Inside the Hidden Chamber, collect the remaining Brooch artifacts and activate its Mystic Gateway. The last Odin’s Raven is near the Valkyrie arena: Gamer Guides locates it above the entrance leading to the arena, which is also noted in the Helheim routes covered by PowerPyx and Prima.

How to plan the two visits

Use the official regional inventory above as the checklist for Helheim itself. For a full-game raven achievement, 43 suffice; for in-game 100% completion, the studio says to collect all 45.
