The main size difference is length: the G48 has a longer slide and barrel, and is slightly heavier. GLOCK lists one Sport/Combat holster for both models, but that does not establish fit for every holster or for pistols with an optic or light.
Glock 48 vs. Glock 43X: the key differences
GLOCK describes both pistols as 9×19 mm Slimline models built on the same compact Slimline frame. In GLOCK’s 2023 Buyer’s Guide, the G43X is listed at 6.50 inches overall and the G48 at 7.28 inches. Both are listed at 5.04 inches high and 1.10 inches wide. The G48’s longer dimensions are concentrated in its slide and barrel rather than a taller or wider listed profile.

What the size difference means for concealed carry
Grip height and width
Because the guide lists the same height and width for both pistols, those measurements alone do not distinguish the models’ grip profile. The shared Slimline frame is a useful baseline, but a listed dimension cannot predict how a particular grip feels in a person’s hand or under clothing.

Slide length, barrel length, and weight
The G48’s overall length is 0.78 inches greater, and its barrel is 0.76 inches longer. It also weighs about 2.04 ounces more with a magazine, based on the guide’s approximate figures. Those are specification differences; they do not, by themselves, prove that one model is more comfortable, easier to conceal, or preferable for a particular wearer. Concealment and comfort depend on the wearer, clothing, carry position, and holster.
Do Glock 48 and 43X holsters fit each other?
GLOCK’s accessory page lists a “Sport/Combat holster slim for models G43, G43X and G48.” That is explicit compatibility for that named GLOCK holster and those listed models. It is not a blanket guarantee that every third-party G43X holster fits a G48, or vice versa. Check GLOCK’s Sport/Combat holster listing.

For any other holster, use the manufacturer’s fit list for the exact pistol and configuration. A close match in basic dimensions is not a substitute for a stated fit, particularly where the holster is molded for a specific slide or has a light-bearing design.
What changes with a G43X or G48 MOS?
GLOCK’s MOS versions have an optic cut and a slim mounting rail. GLOCK says the optic cut is non-standard and requires a compatible micro-optic. These additions make exact-configuration checking especially important: confirm whether a holster maker lists the MOS version, the optic you plan to use, and any mounted light. The available manufacturer information does not establish universal cross-fit between standard and MOS pistols, or compatibility with every light-equipped setup.

How to choose between them
- Compare the physical dimensions that matter to you. The listed grip height and width are the same, while the G48 is longer and heavier.
- Consider your own carry setup. Clothing, carry position, and holster design affect concealment and comfort; the specifications do not establish a universal winner.
- Verify the exact holster fit. Look up the precise model and variant, including MOS status, optic, and light, in the holster maker’s compatibility list.
- Check local rules separately. The cited model specifications do not establish magazine laws or other requirements in your jurisdiction.
