The complete route is larger than the main story. Finish the base campaign, clear its map activities, play the Echoes of Sekigahara narrative expansion, complete Most Wanted bounties and unlocks, then work through Ghost of Yōtei Legends and New Game Plus. New Game Plus appears on the title screen after the main story and carries over gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles.
This guide separates confirmed content from details that the official pages do not publish, especially the exact number and locations of DLC collectibles.

What counts as 100% completion in Ghost of Yōtei?
There is no single in-game percentage that combines every activity across the campaign, expansions, co-op and replay modes. A practical completion target is a checklist covering five parts of the release:
| Part | What to complete | What is confirmed |
|---|---|---|
| Base game | Main story, map activities, resources, collectibles and trophies | The game’s post-story systems allow a later New Game Plus cleanup run. |
| Echoes of Sekigahara | Its story, new area, enemies, equipment and related trophies | It is the narrative expansion, with present-day Ezo sections and Sekigahara flashbacks. |
| Most Wanted | Bounties, runs, perks, characters, weapons, cosmetics and trophies | It is a repeatable, single-player combat-survival mode with roguelike elements. |
| Legends | Story, Survival and Incursion/raid activities | Story supports two players; Survival supports four; online play requires PlayStation Plus. |
| New Game Plus | Replay objectives, remaining collectibles and trophies | Gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles carry over after the main story. |
The exact DLC collectible count and a location-by-location list are not stated on the first-party pages currently available. Treat any precise number found elsewhere as a separately verified walkthrough claim, not an official total.
#1 Best Overall
- Stunning graphics and gameplay, explore the wild and striking lands around Mount Yotei on foot or horseback. Travel picturesque parts of northern Japan through grasslands, snowy ridges, fields of wildflowers, and more.
- Discover renegade combat, engage in lawless katana combat and battles with adversaires. Train with various sensei as you find and learn to use each new weapon.
- An unconventional story and journey, take in the cultural beauty of Japan, bathe in an onsen, visit shrines to pray, try Sumi-e painting, and so much more.
- Choose your weapon, battle Atsu's opponents as you see fit, with levelled-up dual katanas, odachi, kusarigama and other new weapons.
Release timing and which version includes the DLC
Sucker Punch announced that patch v2.0 added Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted globally on October 1, 2026. Some territories, including parts of Asia, Australia and New Zealand, received the content on October 2 because of local release timing. If an add-on is missing, check that the console has downloaded the current update and that your account and disc region match the territory where the content was purchased.
The official PlayStation Store listing identifies the Ghost of Yōtei Complete Edition PS5 as including the base game, both new additions, Legends and Digital Deluxe content. The listing does not establish a universal upgrade price or a single upgrade route for every existing owner. For a physical copy, territory, format, seller, stock and price must be checked at the time of purchase; those details can change independently of the game’s content.
Recommended completion order
The modes can be approached in different ways, but the following order minimizes backtracking and gives New Game Plus the largest pool of carry-over items.
- Finish the main story. This is the trigger for New Game Plus to appear on the title screen. You do not have to start the replay immediately.
- Clear the base-game map. Complete activities, gather resources and collect items you want available in the replay. Doing this before restarting avoids switching between two save states while you are still learning the map.
- Play Echoes of Sekigahara. Its story is designed around a new Ezo valley, historical flashbacks and new combat equipment, so it works best as the next narrative block.
- Run Most Wanted bounties. Use repeated runs to unlock perks, playable characters, weapons and cosmetics. Because runs are repeatable, you can return whenever you want a combat-focused session rather than a story mission.
- Play Legends with the right group size. Complete its two-player Story missions, four-player Survival activities and Incursion/raid content. Online multiplayer requires an active PlayStation Plus subscription.
- Use New Game Plus for cleanup. Start the replay with your carried-over gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles, then finish trophies or objectives you left behind.
This is an efficiency recommendation based on how the modes are documented, not a developer-mandated sequence. You can enter the expansions earlier if the game makes them available in your save.
Echoes of Sekigahara walkthrough and completion details
Echoes of Sekigahara is the story expansion. Its structure alternates between Atsu’s present-day journey in Ezo and flashbacks to her time on the mainland during the Battle of Sekigahara. The official description presents the two time periods as parts of one narrative rather than as unrelated missions.
1. Investigate the new Ezo valley
The present-day portion takes Atsu into a previously unseen valley once inhabited by The Snake and the Vipers. Explore the area thoroughly instead of rushing from objective to objective. The valley is the expansion’s new open-space setting, and its encounters are where you will find the additional enemies and equipment tied to the DLC.
Rank #2
- Discover a bold, new story of a warrior in Japan who is on her own mission of vengeance.
- Set 300 years after the critically acclaimed Ghost of Tsushima, Ghost of Yōtei is a standalone experience set in 1600s rural Japan. The story follows a haunted, lone mercenary named Atsu. Thirsty for revenge, she travels through the beautiful, rugged landscapes of northern Japan, hunting those who killed her family many years earlier.
- Sixteen years after her family’s death, Atsu’s quest across Ezo brings her to unexplored lands in search of a gang of six outlaws, but she finds much more than vengeance. Throughout her journey, Atsu will discover unlikely allies, and greater bonds than she could have imagined.
- Follow the active story objectives until the valley’s routes and combat spaces are open.
- Search side paths and optional spaces before leaving each area; the official pages confirm new equipment and dyes, but do not publish a complete location list.
- Record any unresolved icons or locked paths on your map so you can return after the story.
2. Play the Sekigahara flashbacks
The flashback chapters show Atsu’s experience of the Battle of Sekigahara and a key moment before she returns home. Expect a different historical context from the Ezo investigation, but treat the sections as part of the same expansion progression. The Store description specifically highlights learning about Sekigahara as one of the expansion’s rewards.
Do these 3 things before closing this tab:
1Clear out junk files and repair common Windows errors2Fix the driver behind crashes, sound loss and screen glitches3Repair Windows errors before they cause bigger problemsThere is no official mission-count breakdown in the published material, so this guide does not assign names or numbers to individual chapters. Advance through every story objective, then revisit the expansion’s map for any activity markers that remain.
3. Learn the new weapon type and test the new gear
The expansion adds new enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets and dyes. The Store listing also describes mastering a new weapon type. Equip the new weapon as soon as the game makes it available, because its combat requirements may differ from the tools you used throughout the base campaign.
- Compare the new weapon’s range, recovery time and stagger behavior with your existing loadout.
- Try the heavy weapons against the expansion’s new enemy types before committing to a fixed build.
- Apply new armor sets and dyes after you have checked their upgrade state; a cosmetic item and a combat upgrade are separate completion goals.
4. Finish the expansion before starting cleanup
Complete the final narrative objective, then return to the valley and check the map for remaining activities, resources or collectible markers. The official announcement confirms trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara, but it does not publish a trophy-by-trophy checklist or an exact collectible total. Use the in-game trophy list and your map markers as the authoritative checklist for your save.
Most Wanted mode: runs, rewards and a practical completion plan
Most Wanted is a single-player combat-survival mode that Sucker Punch describes as its spin on a roguelike. You accept a bounty to begin a run, defeat enemy waves and encounters, and earn perks while unlocking additional playable characters. The Store listing adds new enemies, boss encounters, weapons and cosmetics.
How a run works
- Choose a bounty. The bounty is the entry point for a run and defines the combat challenge you are accepting.
- Fight through the encounter sequence. Defeat enemies and survive the combat-skill checks presented by the mode.
- Select perks. Perks improve the current run and are part of the mode’s progression loop. Read each option before choosing; a defensive perk can be more valuable than a damage increase if the next encounter is unfamiliar.
- Beat bosses and new enemy types. Boss encounters are explicitly part of the mode’s content. Change your weapon or perk plan when a boss exposes a weakness in your initial build.
- Bank unlocks and repeat. Successful progress unlocks additional characters, weapons and cosmetics. Because the mode is repeatable, completion involves returning for further bounties rather than expecting one linear campaign.
What to track for completion
- Every available bounty or run objective shown by the mode.
- All playable characters unlocked through the documented progression.
- Weapons and cosmetics awarded by Most Wanted.
- Boss encounters and trophies associated with the mode.
The first-party descriptions do not state how many bounties, perks, characters, weapons or cosmetics exist. Do not infer a fixed total from an early version of the menu; counts can depend on progression and later updates.
Rank #3
- Battle against over 50 players simultaneously in a massive multiplayer playground.
- Compete in an all-out mass start race—collide, grind, and fight your way to the finish
- Customize your character to show off your style to your friends or show up the competition.
- Bike, ski, snowboard, or wingsuit through a seamless open world in Career mode or multiplayer events.
- Go wild on the heights of iconic US national parks like Yosemite, Zion, and Bryce Canyon.
When to play Most Wanted
Most Wanted is the best post-story choice when you want repeatable combat rather than another narrative chapter. Playing it after the base story and Echoes also lets you bring a familiar understanding of the game’s weapons and enemies into the runs. Nothing in the published guidance requires this order, so you can use it earlier if you prefer its challenge loop.
Ghost of Yōtei Legends co-op guide
Legends is free post-launch DLC and is included in the Complete Edition. Its documented activities are built around different group sizes and objectives.
| Mode | Players | What to expect |
|---|---|---|
| Story | Two players | Co-operative narrative missions designed for a pair. |
| Survival | Four players | Wave-based combat in which a full group defends objectives and survives escalating pressure. |
| Incursion/raid | Group activity; exact size is not stated in the cited description | Raid-style encounters against supernatural Yōtei Six versions. |
Do you need PlayStation Plus?
Yes, online multiplayer requires PlayStation Plus. The requirement applies when you join the online Story, Survival or Incursion activities. The Complete Edition includes Legends itself, but it does not remove the platform subscription requirement.
Recommended Free Tools
A reliable Legends completion route
- Confirm that the DLC is installed and that your PlayStation Plus subscription is active.
- Start with Story if you are learning the mode or playing with one partner.
- Move to Survival with a four-player group once you are comfortable coordinating revives, objectives and enemy pressure.
- Attempt Incursion/raid activities with a prepared group; their supernatural Yōtei Six encounters are a separate challenge from ordinary Story missions.
- Check the in-game activity and trophy screens after each mode, since the published overview does not provide a complete reward or trophy table.
Collectibles: what is known and how to avoid missing items
The base game’s collectibles can be cleaned up before New Game Plus or during the replay. The official game page confirms that collectibles carry over, so an item collected in the first playthrough should not need to be collected again simply because you started New Game Plus.
Base-game sweep
- Finish the main story first if an activity or region is gated by narrative progress.
- Open the map after each major story arc and clear visible activity markers while the surrounding routes are familiar.
- Spend or gather resources before restarting if you want the largest possible stock available in New Game Plus.
- Use the in-game map and collection screens together; a cleared map icon is not necessarily proof that every collectible category is complete.
DLC collectibles
The official pages reviewed do not publish an exact Echoes of Sekigahara collectible count or a location-by-location checklist. The same caution applies to any claim that assigns a definitive total to Most Wanted cosmetics or Legends rewards without identifying a first-party source. For those items, use the expansion’s own progress screens and a separately verified walkthrough if you need coordinates.
Preventing a false 100 percent
Keep three records: the base-game collection screen, the expansion’s trophy or progress screen and the Legends activity list. A completed story is not proof that every map activity, cosmetic or trophy is finished, and a full collection screen does not automatically complete a separate mode’s challenge requirements.

New Game Plus: unlock conditions and carry-over rules
New Game Plus appears on the title screen after you complete the main story. You can therefore finish optional activities before launching it; there is no need to rush directly from the final mission into the replay.
What carries over
The official game page states that New Game Plus carries over:
- Gear
- Upgrades
- Cosmetics
- Resources
- Collectibles
These carry-over categories make New Game Plus the natural place to finish a missed collectible or trophy without giving up the equipment and cosmetic progress earned in the first run.
New trophies and cosmetics
The Complete Edition announcement adds new New Game Plus cosmetics and trophies for Echoes of Sekigahara and Most Wanted. Check the console’s trophy list for the exact requirement wording; the published announcement confirms their existence but does not reproduce every condition.
Best time to start the replay
Start New Game Plus after your first map sweep, not before, if your goal is the least duplicated work. Entering early is still valid when you want a stronger replay immediately, but you may have to revisit the same regions later to finish activities that were already available in the first save.

The official Store listing establishes the Complete Edition’s bundle, but it does not publish one universal upgrade price or guarantee that every territory offers the same purchase path. Use the following comparison when deciding what to buy:
Best Value
- Beyond war, ancient beauty endures: Roam vast countryside and expansive terrain to encounter rich characters, discover ancient landmarks and uncover the hidden beauty of Tsushima.
- The rise of the Ghost: Seek support from old friends and new unlikely allies to reclaim Tsushima.
- Mud, Blood and steel: challenge opponents with your katana for an immersive Samurai combat experience.
- Become legends together: play with friends or via online matchmaking in a series of two-player story missions or four-player wave-based survival missions in the legends online co-op
- A whole new island to explore: Travel to Iki Island to investigate rumors of a Mongol presence in a brand-new story with deeply personal stakes.
| Option | Confirmed contents | What to verify before purchase |
|---|---|---|
| Complete Edition PS5 | Base game, Echoes of Sekigahara, Most Wanted, Legends and Digital Deluxe content | Edition name, PS5 format, territory, seller, stock and current price. |
| Existing base-game owner | The base game is already owned; the official pages do not state one standard upgrade package or price. | Whether your account region offers an upgrade and which add-ons are included in that local listing. |
| Physical purchase | Contents depend on the edition printed on the box and the entitlement redeemed by the disc. | Disc region, included code expiry, used-copy code status and compatibility with your account region. |
If you already own the base game, compare the local Store’s upgrade or add-on listing with the Complete Edition’s total contents rather than assuming the names represent identical entitlements in every market.
Post-game completion checklist
Use this as a final pass once the story and expansions are available:
- ☐ Main story completed and New Game Plus visible on the title screen.

- ☐ Desired base-game resources and collectibles collected before restarting.
- ☐ Echoes of Sekigahara story completed, including its Ezo valley and Sekigahara flashbacks.
- ☐ New expansion enemies, heavy weapons, armor sets, dyes and the new weapon type tested or collected where the game tracks them.
- ☐ Most Wanted bounties replayed until the available perks, characters, weapons, cosmetics and trophies are complete.
- ☐ Legends Story completed with a second player.
- ☐ Legends Survival completed with a four-player group.
- ☐ Legends Incursion/raid activities attempted or cleared with the required group and PlayStation Plus access.
- ☐ New Game Plus replay started with carried-over gear, upgrades, cosmetics, resources and collectibles.
- ☐ Remaining trophies checked individually, including the additional Echoes and Most Wanted trophies announced for the expanded release.
Common completion problems and fixes
The DLC is not appearing
Confirm that patch v2.0 is installed, then check the add-on list for your account and disc region. Remember that the announced launch date was October 1, 2026 globally, with October 2 timing in some territories. A territory mismatch can make an entitlement appear to be missing even when the base game launches normally.
New Game Plus is missing
Finish the main story’s final progression, return to the title screen and look for the New Game Plus option there. It is not described as a mode that appears partway through the campaign.
Legends matchmaking will not start
Verify PlayStation Plus first, then check the activity’s player requirement. Story is documented for two players and Survival for four; an incomplete party can prevent the activity from starting even when the DLC is installed.
You cannot find an official DLC collectible total
That information is not stated in the first-party pages currently available. Use the in-game progress display or a separately sourced, version-specific walkthrough instead of relying on an assumed number.
