Yes—but the roughly $650 offer applies to a specific refurbished 2022 13-inch MacBook Air with Apple’s M2 chip, 8GB unified memory and a 256GB SSD. Macworld’s DealPost reported the configuration at $649.99 on October 9, 2026, reduced from a stated regular price of $999. The listing is Grade B, so light scuffs, scratches or dents may be visible, and the price can change.
What the $650 refurbished MacBook Air deal includes
The deal is not for every M2 MacBook Air. It identifies the 2022 13-inch model with an M2 processor, 8GB of unified memory and 256GB of solid-state storage. At $649.99, it is about $349 below the reported $999 regular price. Macworld’s DealPost Team described the Grade B unit as fully functional while warning that cosmetic wear may be present.

| Offer or market figure | Configuration or scope | Price and qualification |
|---|---|---|
| DealPost listing | 2022 13-inch MacBook Air, M2, 8GB, 256GB | $649.99; Grade B; price subject to change |
| Apple Certified Refurbished | 13.6-inch M2 MacBook Air, 8GB, 256GB | $679 when the page was crawled in 2026; limited supply |
| Dero market snapshot | 54 refurbished M2 MacBook Air offers from one seller | $668 low, $942 median, $1,016 average |
Dero’s October 5, 2026 snapshot also recorded a 4.3% decline in the seven-day median. That makes a $649.99 listing unusually close to the low end of observed prices, but it does not guarantee that the same seller, stock or condition will still be available.

What Grade B refurbished means
Grade B is a cosmetic classification, not a statement that the computer is defective. The cited description allows for light scuffing on the case and light scratches or dents on the body while stating that the machine works. It does not establish a particular battery-health percentage, cycle count, replacement-parts policy or refurbishment certification.

Before paying, open the seller’s condition notes and confirm whether the listing specifies battery capacity, charger inclusion, keyboard layout, activation-lock removal and the exact return procedure. If those details are absent, treat them as unknown rather than assuming Apple-original parts or a like-new battery.
Apple Certified Refurbished versus the $649.99 listing
Apple’s own refurbished store showed a comparable 8GB/256GB M2 MacBook Air at $679 during the cited 2026 page crawl—$29.01 more than the DealPost price. Apple says its refurbished products undergo functionality testing, cleaning, inspection, repackaging and final quality assurance. The product page also states that the machine is covered by a one-year limited warranty and a 14-day returns policy. Supplies are limited.

|---|---|---|
| Price at cited time | $649.99 | $679 |
| Cosmetic condition | Grade B; light wear possible | Apple’s certified refurbished standard; exact cosmetic description not stated |
| Battery-health disclosure | Not stated | Not stated on the cited details |
| Refurbishment standard | Seller’s standard is not established by the deal report | Functionality testing, cleaning, inspection, repackaging and final QA |

The $29.01 difference buys a clearly stated Apple warranty and return window, while the lower-priced listing may be worthwhile if its seller provides equivalent protection and you accept cosmetic wear. Do not treat “refurbished,” “renewed” and “certified” as interchangeable labels; the seller, inspection process and written terms control the risk.

Good fit for school and everyday work
Eight gigabytes is generally suited to web research, document editing, email, video calls, streaming and light photo work. The M2 platform gives this 2022 model considerably more headroom than older Intel MacBook Air generations for those workloads.

- IMPRESSIVELY BIG, IMPOSSIBLY THIN — The 15-inch MacBook Air makes room for more of what you love with a spacious Liquid Retina display. The durable 100 percent recycled aluminum enclosure is strikingly thin and light.
- SUPERCHARGED BY M2 — Get more done faster with a powerful 8-core CPU, 10-core GPU, and up to 24GB of unified memory.
- UP TO 18 HOURS OF BATTERY LIFE — Go all day with the power-efficient performance of the Apple M2 chip. (Battery life varies by use and configuration. See apple.com/batteries for more information.)
- SPACIOUS, BEAUTIFUL DISPLAY — The high-resolution, 15.3-inch Liquid Retina display features 500 nits of brightness, P3 wide color, and support for one billion colors for vibrant images and incredible detail. (The display on the 15-inch MacBook Air has rounded corners at the top. When measured as a standard rectangular shape, the screen is 15.3 inches diagonally; actual viewable area is less.)
- SILENT DESIGN — MacBook Air features a fanless design that runs completely silent, no matter the task.
Where the configuration becomes restrictive
256GB fills quickly with large photo libraries, video projects, virtual machines, games or multiple creative applications. Unified memory is not user-upgradable, and the storage is not a simple post-purchase upgrade. Choose a higher-capacity configuration—or plan to use external storage—if your work routinely involves large local files or demanding multitasking.
How to verify the deal at checkout
- Confirm the title and technical specifications say 2022 MacBook Air, M2, 8GB unified memory and 256GB SSD; do not rely on a product photo alone.
- Check the final cart total, shipping, taxes and any marketplace fees. The reported $649.99 is a deal price, not a guaranteed all-in total.
- Read the Grade B definition and look for photographs or notes describing dents, scratches, screen marks and keyboard wear.
- Find the battery-health disclosure, cycle-count policy and whether the seller guarantees a minimum capacity. If none is provided, record it as unknown.
- Verify the seller’s refurbishment standard, included charger, warranty length and return window before placing the order.
- After delivery, check the serial number and system information, test every port, the display, keyboard, trackpad, camera, speakers, Wi-Fi and charging, and confirm that Activation Lock is disabled.
- Keep the packaging and document any condition mismatch immediately so you remain within the stated return period.
Who should buy—and who should wait
- Buy the $649.99 unit if you want the lowest observed price, can tolerate visible Grade B wear, and the seller provides acceptable battery, warranty and return terms.
- Pay the extra $29.01 for Apple Certified Refurbished if a one-year limited warranty, 14-day returns and a documented certification process matter more than the lowest price.
- Wait or choose another configuration if you need more than 256GB, more memory for sustained professional workloads, a guaranteed battery-health threshold or pristine cosmetics.
Why the price may change quickly
The DealPost report explicitly says the price is subject to change. Refurbished inventory is finite, and Dero’s snapshot covered offers from only one seller rather than the entire market. A listing can disappear, change grade or sell at a different price before checkout. Treat the displayed cart total and written terms as the only figures that govern your purchase.

The Bottom Line
The $649.99 price is credible for a specific Grade B 2022 M2 MacBook Air, but verify the final price, battery information, refurbishment standard, warranty and returns before ordering. Apple’s $679 certified option costs slightly more while clearly including a one-year limited warranty and 14-day returns.
