Neither is proven to guide you to a specific product aisle or shelf in a Dutch supermarket. Ray-Ban Meta is the currently listed physical product whose Dutch product page describes asking questions about what you see. Google’s Gemini eyewear is an announced product family with planned visual assistance and navigation features, but the cited official material does not confirm Dutch availability or Dutch-language support. General visual help or navigation is not the same as knowing a store’s layout, stock, or shelf locations.
Can either pair tell you which aisle has a product?
That specific ability is not established by the official materials available as of October 4, 2026. A camera-equipped assistant may be able to discuss something in view, and a navigation feature may give directions, but neither fact demonstrates that the glasses can identify a supermarket’s inventory or direct you to a particular aisle or shelf.

Ray-Ban’s Dutch product page describes visual questions, such as asking about a monument or translating a sign. It does not describe product lookup, store maps, or shelf guidance. Google describes visual questions and directions as planned capabilities for Gemini eyewear, but does not say that they include indoor supermarket navigation. What the launch and language details mean for shoppers in the Netherlands
Ray-Ban Meta: a listed product, but check local availability
Ray-Ban’s Dutch-language page lists Meta glasses and visual-question examples, but the page’s list of countries where the product is sold and shipped omits the Netherlands. The Dutch catalog also lists Meta glasses models, but a Dutch site listing alone does not settle shipping eligibility. Check the live local listing and checkout before relying on Dutch purchase availability. The catalog’s displayed prices can change, so they are not a stable basis for comparing the glasses’ ability to guide you in-store. Ray-Ban Meta glasses catalog.
Gemini eyewear: announced capabilities, not confirmed Dutch retail support
Google’s May 19, 2026 announcement describes two types: audio glasses for spoken help and display glasses that show information. Google named Gentle Monster and Warby Parker as eyewear partners, and described directions, visual questions, translation, and phone-app actions. It said audio glasses would launch later in fall 2026; the Android XR page says “Coming this fall” and notes that regional availability, features, and specifications vary. Those announcements do not confirm a Dutch launch or Dutch-language support. Google’s announcement; Android XR.

Do not treat a prototype demonstration as a supermarket test
Google’s May 2025 Android XR post discusses prototype glasses paired with Gemini, including turn-by-turn directions and a live-translation demonstration. That is evidence of a prototype demonstration, not proof of how a released pair performs in a Dutch supermarket. Google’s Android XR post.
How to judge a claim that glasses can find a supermarket item
Before choosing glasses for this task, look for evidence that answers these distinct questions:

- Does it know the store? A feature should explicitly cover indoor store maps or aisle locations, rather than general directions.
- Does it know what is in stock? Seeing shelves through a camera does not establish access to live product inventory.
- Can it work in Dutch? Confirm the current language list for the exact model and region; an older EU language announcement may not reflect later changes.
- Is the feature released locally? Separate announced or demonstrated capabilities from a product available in the Netherlands with that feature enabled.
Until those points are substantiated for a particular model and store, treat visual AI as general contextual assistance—not as a reliable aisle finder.
