What the Mags “Beep Bop” mod changed
Created and uploaded by SlayerOfThunder, the project targeted Mags Carter’s English voice assets in the PC version of Gears of War: E-Day. The Nexus Mods description identifies 2,967 dialogue assets and says the replacements applied to both ordinary gameplay and cutscenes.

Procedural droid-style sounds
Instead of spoken lines, the mod used original chirps, whistles and exaggerated squeals. The sounds were procedurally composed and arranged to follow the original timing, pauses and delivery. The listing specifically said it did not use sampled film clips, cloned voices or the game’s original spoken dialogue.
Version, build and package details
Nexus listed version 0.2.0-flair-v3 for the English (US) Steam build 25724756. The page showed 9 October 2026 as both the original upload date and the last update date. Its description also recorded 8,901 packaged asset files extracted byte-for-byte, a figure that refers to the package contents rather than the number of dialogue lines.

When the Nexus listing disappeared
An iXBT Games report published on 13 October 2026 described Nexus Mods removing the project after it had replaced nearly three thousand Mags lines with robotic or broken-record sounds. The Nexus page remains visible as an index entry, but its download counter reads “0 of 0,” indicating that no downloadable file is currently offered from that listing.
The available record establishes the removal, not the precise time between the last update and the delisting. It also does not establish how many people downloaded the mod; no independent download, audience or survey total has been reported.

What is known about the reason
Nexus’s page notes that a separate scripted installer was quarantined by its automated checks. That installer was not offered as the installation route; users were directed to the files and deployment instructions that had been listed on the mod page. Quarantine of that separate installer should not be treated as a published explanation for removing the entire project.

No formal, detailed Nexus policy statement has been identified that explains the overall delisting. In particular, there is no confirmed statement tying the decision to copyright, targeted harassment, discrimination, synthetic voice rules or another specific content category.

A Reddit community report says the creator received an informal warning after sharing alternative download links following the removal. That is a secondary community account, not an official Nexus announcement, and it does not verify the status or safety of any files distributed elsewhere.
Where the project is listed now
AyakaMods carries a page for the same project and describes packs that replace identified spoken dialogue used by gameplay and cutscene tracks. The existence of that page confirms that the project was documented outside Nexus Mods. It does not independently verify the files’ integrity, whether they are safe to run, whether they are authorized, or whether a working download is still available.
Any repost or link shared after the Nexus removal therefore needs to be evaluated as an unverified third-party copy. A page describing the mod is not evidence that its archive matches version 0.2.0-flair-v3 or the 25724756 Steam build.

What to check before using any repost
- Confirm the target build. The original Nexus record was specifically for the English (US) Steam build 25724756. A file aimed at another build may not contain the same assets or work correctly.
- Check the language scope. The documented replacements were English assets. Do not assume that another language edition is covered.
- Prefer an archive over an unknown script. Nexus documented automated quarantine of a separate scripted installer. Do not run a replacement installer merely because it claims to restore the original setup.
- Verify provenance and integrity. Compare the version label, file list and hashes when a reputable host provides them. The AyakaMods page alone does not establish that a download is complete or unchanged.
- Back up the game first. Keep an untouched copy of the relevant installation so the voice files can be restored if a third-party package is incomplete or incompatible.
Why the distinction matters
This incident separates three facts that are easy to conflate: what the mod did, what happened to its Nexus listing, and why Nexus acted. The audio change is documented in detail: Mags’s English lines were replaced with timed, original droid-like effects across gameplay and cutscenes. The delisting is also visible from the page’s zero-download status and independent reporting. The motive, however, remains undisclosed in a formal public statement. Until Nexus explains the decision, the installer quarantine and the community warning are clues about distribution, not proof of a content-policy ruling.
