What Tactical Gear is confirmed in the campaign?
In an August 25, 2026 campaign preview, Xbox Wire describes Tactical Gear as “rechargeable items that can be deployed in battle, like health injectors and throwables to stun enemies.” The examples establish two uses: recovery and crowd control. They do not establish a complete inventory.

How campaign supply caches affect your loadout
The same Xbox Wire preview reports supply caches dotted around Kalona. In the campaign demo, caches could refill ammunition, change the loadout, and equip weapon mods. Examples of mod effects included damage buffs and reloading after a chainsaw kill. The article does not say that every cache offers every option.

Those functions make a cache a point to adjust ammunition, weapons, or mod setup as a mission develops. That is a practical implication of the described options, not a claim that one setup is universally best.
Which documented weapons suit which range?
Xbox Wire’s October 6, 2026 launch guide calls E-Day weapons “deeply situational.” Its descriptions support comparing three familiar weapons by their stated role, not by unreported damage or accuracy measurements.

Grenades can shut down E-holes
A June 7, 2026 Xbox Wire feature describes E-holes as both a spectacle and a tactical mechanic: Locust can emerge from them, and “a well-placed grenade can close them up.” That makes a grenade more than a direct attack in this described situation: it can remove an emergence point from an encounter.
The feature does not specify grenade types, blast radius, timing windows, or whether every grenade can close every E-hole.
Heavy Weapons trade mobility for firepower
The Coalition identifies the Heavy Boomshot as the Locust’s Prototype Boomshot and classifies it as a Heavy Weapon. Its E-Day gameplay update says carrying a Heavy slows the player, although most movement remains possible. It also describes Heavy Weapons being pulled from turret bases, specifically as an acquisition option in Horde Siege.

The update says the Prototype Boomshot is balanced to give the weapon a hefty kick, but supplies no numerical damage figures. “Prototype Boomshot” is the developer’s name for this E-Day version; the available description does not support a numerical comparison with other weapons.
How multiplayer equipment and progression work
The Coalition’s multiplayer overview describes a separate, class-based progression system. Completing missions earns Class XP; each class has 30 levels at launch. Class progression unlocks loadout weapons and equipment, Armor Mods, Tactical Gear Mods, and unique Weapon Mods.
Class progression and mod effects
- Armor Mods can affect health, ammunition reserves, or weapon-swap speed. The developer also gives gaining Perfect Active ammo from executions as an example benefit.
- Tactical Gear Mods can reduce cooldowns, increase range, or add effects. These are multiplayer-system details, not confirmation of campaign Tactical Gear statistics.
- Weapon Mods can make subtle tactical adjustments or change functionality. The Coalition gives attaching a bayonet to a Gnasher as an example.
Unlocking a Weapon Mod on a class track does not automatically equip or purchase it: the overview says each Weapon Mod must also be bought with Weapon Parts. Players earn some parts through class progression. The Coalition describes extracting with parts from Horde Siege missions as the best way to earn and unlock more; parts collected during a mission are kept only after successful extraction and completion.

Horde Siege and Versus are not interchangeable
Weapon customization is shared across classes in Horde Siege. Versus is different: the overview describes 4v4 matches where everyone starts with the same loadout weapons and equipment, and weapon mods are absent. Do not apply Horde Siege’s customization and progression rules to Versus.
The Coalition characterizes success at higher difficulties as depending on combining Armor Mods, Tactical Gear Mods, and Weapon Mods. The overview does not identify a single best combination.

Collectibles and physical memorabilia are not combat equipment
Xbox Wire’s launch guide identifies COG armor, tags, and unexpected finds such as a can of soup as collectibles with lore entries. It does not describe these objects as deployable or usable equipment.

The Collector’s Edition announcement describes a 15-inch Marcus and Dom statue, replica COG tags, a replica in-game photograph, and a Feral Wretch art print. It says the Xbox Series X version includes the Premium Edition on disc. Those physical replica tags are memorabilia, not the in-game collectibles. The announcement says quantities are limited and regional availability varies, so it does not establish current stock.
What remains undisclosed
The official sources cited here do not publish a complete campaign Tactical Gear inventory, exact campaign recharge cooldowns, all item effects, a full campaign weapon roster, numerical weapon-performance data, or campaign unlock requirements. They also do not establish that multiplayer class equipment or mod rules carry over to the campaign.
