Game Pass access is not a copy sale
The 1.7 million figure is an estimate of people who accessed the game through Game Pass, not copies sold. A subscriber can play without purchasing the standard game, so that access estimate should not be added to the copy-sales figure as though both count purchases.

The Premium upgrade is a separate payment
Alinea estimates that 722,000 people paid for the Premium upgrade. Xbox lists the US Premium Edition upgrade for $30.00 and describes it as including up to five days of early access and in-game content. The store says buyers need the base game or an Xbox Game Pass Ultimate membership (Xbox Store). The upgrade count is not the same as standard-game sales.
The figures do not show lost sales
Alinea’s estimates do not establish how many Game Pass players would otherwise have bought the game, or how much revenue Xbox might have earned without the subscription offer. The access, upgrade and sales counts describe different activity; they do not prove a particular sales effect caused by Game Pass.

Launch timing and platforms
Xbox announced that early access began worldwide on October 1, 2026, with the worldwide launch on October 6. The announcement lists Xbox Series X|S, Windows PC and Steam, and says cloud gaming is available through Game Pass Ultimate and GeForce NOW (Xbox Wire).
