Act 1 has 13 collectibles across four chapters: three in Emergence, four in Survival of the Fittest, two in A Gear in Need, and four in Back in the Fold. Use this chapter-by-chapter checklist to sweep the nearby rooms and side paths before moving on. The locations below follow guide-reported landmarks; the first collectible’s name and exact cue vary between guides.
Chapter 1: Emergence — 3 collectibles
- Monster Jaw (called “Monster Claw” in one guide): after the first E-hole encounter, check the street around the newsstand or kiosk. Guides differ on the precise cue: one places it near a corpse after the first melee enemies. If you do not see it at the kiosk, search the nearby street and bodies before advancing. TechWiser, The Nerd Stash, Gamer Social Club, and DayOne report the early pickup, but not the same item name or landmark.
- Bloody Transit Worker’s Helmet: in the maintenance tunnels, look in a side room or opening on the left for a body with a flashlight.
- Front Page of the Kalona Times: after helping civilians trapped under rubble, cross the street and enter the Cafe and Bakery. Search the back kitchen or counter area. One guide spells the town name “Kelona.”
Chapter 2: Survival of the Fittest — 4 collectibles
- KPD Police Bulletin: inside the police station, check the desk or table on the left side of the bullpen before continuing farther into the building.
- Bloodied Police Chief’s Badge: in the chief’s room, search beside or below the chief’s body on the wall.
- Army Recruitment Pamphlet: in the Gears recruitment center, look behind the reception desk or near the display with COG emblems.
- Try On Pilot Helmet: inspect the helmet display to the right of the pamphlet; one guide specifies the third helmet from the left. A guide’s displayed numbering skips from 3 to 5, but it includes this helmet, and another guide identifies it as item 4 of 4 for the chapter.
Chapter 3: A Gear in Need — 2 collectibles
- Tomatoes, Canned: in the supermarket or warehouse area, search a left-hand aisle or storage area near a body and boxes. Guide descriptions vary on the exact aisle, so sweep the warehouse section rather than relying on one turn-by-turn cue.
- Broken Lancer Bayonet: after the fight and cutscene with Tai, inspect the dead soldier and Grub bodies in the supermarket before leaving; the collectible is described as on or near a body.
Chapter 4: Back in the Fold — 4 collectibles
- Front Page of the Tyran Chronicle: near the opening street, check the right-side alley or doorstep around the Bar & Lounge sign or stairs. One guide calls it the “Tyrant Chronicle.”
- Anti-UIR Propaganda Poster: before entering the clinic, take the path on the right and inspect the wall farther along the alley.
- Landa Memorial Medical Supplies Memo: inside the clinic, check the reception or office desk before exiting. One guide shortens the item name to “Landa Memorial Medical Supplies.”
- COG Tags of Private Brick Rosso: after leaving the clinic, check behind or beside the police car near the park entrance.
How to find missed collectibles
TechWiser reports that collectibles make an audio cue and that Tac-Com, activated with LB, highlights nearby objects at short range. If an item does not appear highlighted, move closer and scan the surrounding area rather than assuming the room is clear. The same guide says you can replay individual chapters to revisit missed items and track collectible progress in the War Journal. These are guide-reported directions; the official Xbox material cited below does not document those gameplay details.

Does Act 1 completion count toward an achievement?
Xbox Wire lists “Memories From E-Day” for finding all campaign collectibles on any difficulty. The achievement is campaign-wide, so collecting Act 1’s 13 items is a portion of that objective, not by itself the full requirement. Xbox Wire’s list contains 54 achievements overall: official achievement list.
