In a September 11, 2026 article, an Ultimate Pocket author described disliking running since childhood, then returning to jogging about a year before writing. The author said the smaller-looking Venu 3S appealed more than bulkier watches and wrote, “After years of hating running.” The article’s subheading was “The Garmin Venu 3S took my fitness regimen to the next level.” Those are personal descriptions of one person’s experience; they do not establish that the watch caused a lasting change in attitude or exercise habits. Fit and bands
The case is 41 mm, and Garmin specifies an 18 mm quick-release band. If buying a replacement, check that it is both 18 mm and compatible with the watch’s quick-release fitting rather than assuming any band will fit. The charger is proprietary. Garmin’s UK Venu 3S product page

What to take from the story—and what not to
The Venu 3S has concrete running features and a smaller 41 mm case, which may appeal to someone looking for a compact fitness watch. The available evidence does not show that it will make running enjoyable, improve adherence or outperform another watch. Consider whether you want its size, activity tracking and coaching options, and whether its mode-specific battery estimates suit how you plan to use GPS and music.
