What is Gardens Interactive making?
In 2023, the studio described its upcoming game as an online PvPvE fantasy adventure sandbox action RPG. PvPvE means players can encounter both other players and environmental challenges. The studio’s concept combines cooperation with the possibility of betrayal in a shapeshifting fantasy wilderness. Co-founder and game director Chris Bell said: “It’s a game inspired by our favorite memories playing online RPGs, MMOs, and fantasy action-adventure games over the years, memories of crossing paths with strangers,” according to the funding announcement.
The studio’s homepage now describes its flagship project as a shared fantasy adventure and emphasizes “social roleplay.” In a January 2026 recap of 2025, Gardens said its debut game remained secret and referred to Project Gardens as a working title. It described remote playtests and an in-person Summer Game Fest teahouse demo for a select group of friends, investors and potential publishing partners. No public release date, platform list, final title or consumer product listing was identified in the sources reviewed.
