Nefarious is the closest fit among the listed video games: you play as Crow, a villain who kidnaps princesses and faces heroes in battles built around the usual boss-fight roles being reversed. For a more literal “delay the hero” premise, Unseen Sabotage has you hinder a hero trying to save a burning village—but its developer labels it a prototype, not an established commercial release.
What counts as foiling a hero’s story?
Playing an evil character is not quite the same as taking the antagonist’s side against a hero. A game may offer villainous choices without making the central activity stopping a hero from reaching a goal. The closest matches below are ranked by how directly they put you in opposition to a hero, who you control, and whether the game is a released video game or a prototype.

Video games that put you against the hero
Nefarious: the closest commercial match
Nefarious casts you as Crow, an evil genius who kidnaps princesses to power a world-conquering weapon. Its official Nintendo listing describes boss encounters in which the player takes the boss’s role, including the line: “Stomp on heroes in iconic battles recreated with you as the boss!” That reversal makes it the strongest supported commercial video-game match for playing the villain opposite hero-coded characters. The listing supports that conflict, but does not say the game retells or specifically derails one particular hero’s story. Nintendo’s Nefarious listing identifies a digital edition for Switch.
Unseen Sabotage: the most literal hero-delay premise, as a prototype
In Unseen Sabotage, a hero is racing to reach a burning village and save it, while you use traps, gadgets, and spells to delay them. That is a closer match to the exact idea of actively foiling a hero’s immediate goal. The developer’s project page labels it “Prototype” and lists HTML5 as its platform, so treat it as a prototype rather than a full commercial release. The developer’s Unseen Sabotage page describes the premise and status.

Related story games with villain-side roles
Henchman Story: make choices inside a villain’s organization
Henchman Story puts you in the shoes of a beleaguered underling working for a bumbling supervillain. Your choices affect the story, and Nintendo’s listing specifies eleven endings. It is a narrative alternative if you want to inhabit a villain’s world, but you play the henchman—not the main villain—and the premise is not specifically about sabotaging a hero’s plot. Nintendo’s Henchman Story listing has the game details.
Isekai Villain: defy heroes as a doomed minor antagonist
Isekai Villain makes you a character reborn as a doomed minor villain in a comic world. You defy heroes while trying to shape a different fate. Its emphasis is survival, ambition, and self-determination, rather than deliberately derailing one hero’s story. Nintendo’s Isekai Villain listing describes the premise.

What about a tabletop game?
Star Wars Villainous: Power of the Dark Side is an adjacent option, not a video game. Ravensburger describes a physical tabletop game in which players choose iconic Star Wars villains with distinct objectives and abilities, and interfere with opponents by making them face Jedi and heroes. It offers villain roles and hero interaction, but not the same single-player narrative of foiling a hero’s story. Ravensburger’s product page explains the roles and gameplay premise.
