It shares Spiritfarer’s emotional ambitions while shifting toward action-adventure, family conflict, and duels—not another cozy boat-management game. If you want something to play in the meantime, choose based on which part of Spiritfarer you want to revisit: its spirit-care management, reflective story, or exploratory adventure.
What to expect from At Fate’s End
Thunder Lotus lists At Fate’s End for 2026 on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox, with Xbox Game Pass availability. The studio’s official page gives a year, not a month or day, and a release window can change. Thunder Lotus’ official page has the current platform and timing information.

The announced story follows Shan, the youngest daughter of the ruling Hemlock dynasty, amid conflict within her family. The developers describe an action-adventure built around duels and emotionally weighty mechanics and narrative choices, rather than Spiritfarer’s cozy management loop. Xbox Wire’s introduction to the game discusses its premise and design intent.
Thunder Lotus has said it is carrying forward what it learned from Spiritfarer—“that rich emotional core, that interplay of mechanics and narrative”—while taking it in a new direction. That makes emotional storytelling a useful point of comparison, but not a guarantee that the two games will play alike. The studio’s 2025 announcement also said Spiritfarer had sold more than 2,000,000 copies worldwide; that is the figure reported in that announcement, not a current sales total. Games to play while you wait
| Game | Best if you want | What it shares with Spiritfarer | What differs |
|---|---|---|---|
| Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition | The closest match, or the game itself if you have not played it | Spirit companions, caring for others, exploration, and emotional storytelling | Its central loop is boat-building and management, not the action-adventure direction announced for At Fate’s End |
| Spirittea | A life-sim and management game involving spirits | Helping spirits within a management-focused setting | It is an adjacent pick; its official description does not establish it as a close substitute for Spiritfarer |
| The Last Campfire | A compact, reflective puzzle-adventure | A story-led journey with a wistful, searching tone | It focuses on puzzle exploration, not boat-building or ongoing management |
Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition — for the full combination
If you have not played the game that prompted the search, start here. Thunder Lotus describes Spiritfarer as a cozy management game about building a boat, exploring, caring for spirit friends, and helping them pass on. The official game page lays out that premise. Steam lists the Farewell Edition as released August 18, 2020, and says it includes the base game and three major content updates: Steam’s listing.
This is the strongest choice if what you want is the mix: a management routine, exploration, supernatural companions, and a story about caring and letting go. It is not a preview of At Fate’s End’s combat or family conflict; it is the direct comparison title. Nintendo’s US store also lists Spiritfarer for Switch: Nintendo’s US listing.

Spirittea is a reasonable next stop if the spirit-facing management aspect matters more to you than reproducing every part of Spiritfarer. Its official site describes it as both a life sim and a management game involving spirits: Spirittea’s official site.

The description supports that broad overlap, but not a claim that its story, tone, or exact gameplay loop matches Spiritfarer. Choose it for the life-sim and spirit premise, not as a confirmed one-to-one replacement.
The Last Campfire — for a focused story and puzzle journey
If you want a shorter-feeling, more focused adventure rather than another management routine, consider The Last Campfire. Its official site describes a story adventure about a lost ember seeking meaning and a way home through a puzzling place: The Last Campfire’s official site.
It fits the reflective-adventure side of the comparison, but the available premise does not suggest Spiritfarer’s boat-building, care-taking schedule, or ongoing management. Pick it for exploration and puzzles, not for the same daily loop.

Quick Recap
How to choose the right one
- Want the closest overall match? Play Spiritfarer: Farewell Edition, especially if you have not experienced the original game.
- Want spirits inside a life-sim or management frame? Try Spirittea, while treating it as an adjacent recommendation rather than a near-copy.
- Want a reflective journey with puzzles instead of management? Choose The Last Campfire.
- Waiting specifically for At Fate’s End’s action? None of these three is established here as a match for its duels. They are recommendations for selected emotional, spirit, management, or adventure elements, not predictions of the upcoming game’s full experience.
