Its official Steam listing describes procedurally generated levels and co-op for up to four players. For a more squad-focused option, Deep Rock Galactic: Rogue Core pairs generated caves with randomized upgrades, but it is listed as an Early Access game. Neither is an exact replacement: both differ from Risk of Rain 2 in camera perspective or mission structure.
What makes a game feel like Risk of Rain 2?
Risk of Rain 2 combines third-person combat, randomized stages and items, and online co-op. Its Steam listing says players can tackle runs solo or with up to three friends. It also describes a scaling system that increases the strength of enemies and players over time, more than 110 items, and eleven playable survivors. Its official Steam listing says it supports solo play and four-player co-op. That makes it a practical option for a group of up to four, while its first-person view sets it apart from Risk of Rain 2’s third-person combat. Choose Gunfire Reborn if first-person gunplay and generated levels are the draw. Choose Rogue Core if your group prefers a cave-based squad mission and accepts an evolving Early Access release. Stick with Risk of Rain 2 if third-person combat, its survivor roster, and its escalating stage-based runs are central to what you enjoy.
